Hand up don't shoot was a lie. Never happened yet that didn't stop idiots from chanting it. You can't have that kind of crap be a foundation of a cause.

I'm going to argue that it's actually common sense to hire the best person for the job but we see time and time again that's not the case and instead of admitting such we have people like yourself that bend over backwards to pretend race plays no role. Go on.

You posted what someone said recently, I posted Kap's exact quote at the very beginning....notice how different they are. There's a reason for that. When Kap started the protest, he did so right after massive protests erupted in his home town over a completely justifiable police shooting....but sure, that wasn't the reason.....because reasons.

I think the problem here is that you don't seem to know what the word "murder" means. The incident you are referring to was absolutely not a murder despite the fact that the person shot didn't do anything wrong.

So again, feel free to try and find a legitimate recent example of the police murdering an innocent black man. In fact, I'll help you out, the only example I can think of is the cop in South Carolina that shot the guy fleeing and then staged it to look like he had gone for his gun or whatever......and that cop is likely to get 25 years in jail for it.

Finding a legitimate example of a cop murdering an innocent black man where the cop doesn't do time is MUCH more difficult.

It's not a foundation. Decades of harassment, discrimination, murder, false imprisonment, brutality, etc are the foundations. You've just decided to skip all that to give yourself the excuse not to bother with it. It's ****ing pathetic frankly.

It's just textbook avoidance and deflection on your part.

The scenario we were talking about was when 2 candidates had otherwise identical resume's meaning that in theory neither was the best person for the job, they were equally good for the job. So basically you are side stepping what he said because you know you agree with it.

Not because reasons, because he said so.

You are just ignoring what he said and waving it away to fit your argument.

I'm ignoring spin that was put out after the fact and focusing on what was initially said. Of course they had to go into damage control mode after all the heat they were getting, so of course the narrative changed after the initial narrative proved to be a false one and was rejected.

It's pretty much the same every time we see a BLM protest. They come out talking about an individual case that they believe is an example of injustice, they are proven wrong, then they fall back to non specific "well there have been things in the past" to justify their current actions. It's pretty much what you can expect every time one of these idiots start with their nonsense because the reality is that it's not a legitimate narrative....but it's the best they could come up with.

So you're saying that White America created a perception that a name like LeBron was low class, therefore disproportionately hurting black people? You don't say...

Awesome, if you don't like someone, just manufacture a perception about them that's bad! That way you can treat them unfairly and just call it due to "perception"

There wasn't spin. You took one part of the sentence and ignored it completely.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people..."

    Contradicts NOTHING else he said.

Nope, not saying that at all, but I don't doubt that is what you took from it because you're just "that guy".

The perception was created by low class people naming their children goofy things be it Bubba or Upgrayedd. Of course not everyone who names their children something stupid like that is low class, but that's the perception they are broadcasting.

It contradicts the notion that it wasn't intended to be disrespectful. In fact, that was the point. He was kneeling because he believed the country wasn't worth the respect of him standing. Of course, they went out of their way to spin that after the fact because of all the heat that was on him.....and you lapped up that spin as quickly as they could spew it. The initial comments are drastically different than the spin after the fact and you know it.

You're still excusing the behavior, that it's alright to be judged by your name and get fewer opportunities because of your name.

Either you are excusing it or just can admit "Yeah, it's wrong for that to happen." and move on.

    Who cares if it's disrespectful?

Protests aren't meant to be respectful lol.

Also, why would he need to spin anything? If he was so scared of the heat, he would have just stood lol.

You are the one spinning here, you took one part of a sentence and ignored the rest, and then say HE's the one spinning?

It's life. If your parents screw you over and give you a stupid name, you can either change it or work to overcome it.

Funny enough though, you are pretending to be outraged, but if you had to choose between 2 doctors with similar qualifications, are you really telling me you'd pick Jim-Bob Cooter MD over a doctor with a more normal name?

LOL well clearly enough people cared to where they decided to spin it saying that they weren't trying to be disrespectful despite that obviously being their stated original intent.

Well, clearly he had to spin things because of all the heat on him. His actions were being rejected and he was looking stupid. Rather than abandoning his hail mary attempt to stay relevant, he had people spin it into something less stupid sounding. That's why they started saying it wasn't intended to be disrespectful, that's why they changed the message from being about "bodies in the street" to something more loose like "mistreatment".

You need to read the article again.

"A few weeks later, during preseason, my teammate Colin Kaepernick chose to sit on the bench during the national anthem to protest police brutality. "

"I approached Colin the Saturday before our next game to discuss how I could get involved with the cause but also how we could make a more powerful and positive impact on the social justice movement. We spoke at length about many of the issues that face our community, including systemic oppression against people of color, police brutality and the criminal justice system. We also discussed how we could use our platform, provided to us by being professional athletes in the N.F.L., to speak for those who are voiceless.

After hours of careful consideration, and even a visit from Nate Boyer, a retired Green Beret and former N.F.L. player, we came to the conclusion that we should kneel, rather than sit, the next day during the anthem as a peaceful protest."

Point is. Eric Reid took a knee with him. He's telling you WHY they BOTH kneeled. You are just ignoring it.

They mentioned they weren't trying to be disrespectful towards the military since according to Reid, they actually asked a Green Beret.

My thing with this, this is not about respect. Don't pretend we care about respect. If we did, you'd actually listen and take to heart the protests instead of just dismissing them constantly and invalidating people's experiences. Let's not play faux outrage here.

Either way, protests are about being disrespectful, loud, and inconvenient. History shows this OVER and OVER again.

What you are quoting is spin from WAY after the fact, look at the date, what you are talking about was the story as of September 25, 2017 I'm quoting him from August of 2016...before the spin and efforts to re-write history. The spin you are championing was nowhere to be found back when this started because they hadn't invented it yet.

It's simply a fact that the protests are based on a false narrative and that narrative had to do with police "murdering" innocent black people....a narrative that was really popular at the time but has since been thoroughly debunked to the point where those who used to champion it now pretend that they never pushed it.
