I still expect them to figure things out to some degree and be a tough out for somebody come playoff time.
well it isn't imaginary. it's probably suggesting that those two players are being more effectively utilized than Durant. Even a role player is deadly if used very well.
Steven Adams is way more productive on the court than Anthony this year - you can see this by watching any Thunder game. That's about as real an example of PER as you're likely to find.
I think GM's and educated fans across the league have been valuing Adams as the better player compared to Melo for at least the past 2 years now.
Westbrook should be more selfish. They are all averaging the same amount of points and that makes no sense. They are not the same tier player. Russel should be getting close to 30 ppg, he is a tier 1 superstar. PG13 is a good sidekick. Melo is a good role player, he should be taking a back seat and looking to get 14-16 ppg
You know, by this standard, there's no such thing as a real player rating stat. One can always pick examples where the ratings for particular players don't rank players like we expect.
Watching how OKC is (not) meshing right now should make Rockets fans thankful for MDA. OKC's problems are the system. In Houston, MDA has a system that compliments the players strengths. Everyone knows their role. There is an identity. OKC has a defensive identity, but offensively it is still Westbrook doing his thing or some ISO ball. In "theory" PG and Melo could compliment Westbrook, but the offensive system just isn't there. OKC will not be optimal if Melo is more selfish and does ISO ball with long twos.
You can't just blame it all on the coach. Harden/CP3 top 5 BBIQ in the league, easily. Westbrook, Melo on the other hand easily the 2 most delusional "Stars" in our league. I think MDA is better at figuring things out, no question, but he just has way smarter players around him to help him figuring it out.
That is the ONLY reason i wanted to see Melo on the Thunder, i wanted the media to see with their own eyes that westbrick cantr make other talented players better. Look at oladipo, sabonis, and kanter this year lol people are gonna look back at westbrook mvp and see what a farce it was, but it hurts that harden had the game 6 perfromace, if he lost respectable it wouldnt be so bad
most of the replies to that tweet are going in on Melo...OKC fans will turn on him if things continue to go downhill
PG is on "life-alert" mode. Going through the motions. The unhappiness isn't public yet, but just wait....For once, Melo isn't going to be the center of attention. But, will that bother him? LOL The Thunder look great on paper, despite the burn I still feel from, well, you know. But WB cannot play his game as well with this trio. It's not just his style...it's the fact that the other guys don't know when to defer versus when to lead. WB only knows how to lead. PG really needs to turn this around. He'll be paid either way when he leaves OKC, but he looks pitiful.
i admittedly haven't watch much OKC this year are you referring to on court of off court items? It appeared that PG had some very solid games recently and is leading the league in steals per game.
