So that is the extent of Lavar's comments? He was responding to a direct question, that he apparently seems to disagree with.

Alright, nevermind. I thought it was a real spat and war, like Lebron, Curry and Paul vs Trump.

So since LaVar is unable to keep tabs on his out of control children, the President of the United States has to spare his kid from a decade in prison and he responds with nothing but disrespect. Yeah. Fantastic guy and even better parent that guy is.

China gives this family the floorspace to sell their overpriced generic shoes in their country and they are repaid with thievery, deception, and betrayal. The fact that Trump was able to negotiate the freedom of these animals is a testament to his bargaining power and bodes well for this country moving forward.

Small businesses all across the L.A. area are sweating bullets knowing these morons are roaming free. No accountability. What a shame.

Actually he is doing a great work of exposing it for what it really is and always has been... A BIG JOKE...

actually hes got it pretty right...think about it...US is killing a ton of people abroad throughout the world on a yearly basis...in comparison with that the kids taking few things from the stores in China is a kid's play, it's literally not a big deal...

Trump is right. Shouldn't have stepped in to help. LaVar is an ungrateful turd.

Trump is also an idiot to get involved.

Not a big deal? Lol, okay, would it be a big deal if Trump did nothing and let these guys rot in a Chinese prison for years? I’m pretty sure “LaVar” would be upset if one of his money tickets wouldn’t be able to produce for awhile...

LiAngelo is a grown man. His parents are not responsible for anything he does.

Found this whole saga pretty funny, The Don goes to china, congratulates Xi Jiping on how powerful he is, then flexes on him by getting the UCLA boys released, not only showing that China has no rule of law, but a reminder to the world, especially east asia, that despite china's claims of supremacy and ascendance, the US still runs **** in east asia, and what better way to show that than by making a mockery of the Chinese justice system on whim, in front of all the cameras? The so called "Idiots" in power are a lot smarter than we think.

Its a shame that the Trump-Ball ticket will never be a thing tho.

It was up to Louis Vuitton to drop the charges, not the chinese govt.

If it had been some local store owner a big money program like UCLA could've just done their usual thing and paid their way out without it going to the media.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/19/sports/lavar-ball-trump.html

When ABC’s Michael Del Moro asked LaVar Ball on Sunday about the back-and-forth with the president, Ball claimed to not be interested in making any further statements. But he couldn’t help one more jab.

“Did he go visit them in jail?” Ball asked. “Did you go visit them in jail? If you went to visit them in jail then I would say, ‘Thank you’.”

Nice. So negotiating for the release of your son from prison isn't enough for a thank you...you have to go visit him in prison as well. Okie dokie...

ANY president would have tried to help in this situation. For the POTUS or anyone else to think otherwise is pretty delusional.

His job is to be president for Americans, so yes, that sums up his job if America thinks jail for shoplifting isn't justice.

I am glad he got them out but I disagree about that task summing up his job. I believe that when you visit a foreign country you should respect their laws. Jail for shoplifting is common in America.

Its a power play, its to show that despite Xi Jiping's power grab, he is still too weak to enforce the law in his own country.
