From his post: 1. The kiss story seems legit and Franken has to answer for it. Speaking of seeing only what you want to see, it seems you missed that one, eh? You judged him based on only one aspect of his response.
B-Bob said that he believes the woman making the accusation, describes it as "unwanted sexual contact" and says that he wants to throw Franken's book in the trash because of it. He even gives you unwarranted kudos for making a legitimate thread because that's just how low the expectations are for you here. You, on the other hand, condemn Franken while throwing out the predictable garbage line that Trump's behavior is nothing but "locker room talk." One person in this example is holding two politicians from different sides of the aisle to the same standard while the other person is calling out abusive behavior on one side while throwing out every excuse in the book for their guy, all while labeling anyone else who disagrees as a partisan hypocrite.
Sworn testimony from his wife that he raped her. How embarrassing for you, BiTe. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2016/10/24/documenting-trumps-abuse-of-women
I wonder if Trump is sweating nervously with this barrage of high profile individuals being outed as sexual abusers. Watch his silence on Frankin. That silence is telling from someone who will take any chance to lambasted a political opponent.
The whole "I support an ethics committee hearing" line is pure garbage. Ethics Committee hearings are a joke and Franken isn't denying anything. You either think it's something he should resign over or you don't.
B-Bob said the kiss was "on the lighter side" and he was cool with the grope, assuming there was no contact. Your bias is really showing, kid.
"lighter side of misbehavior" As in on a spectrum stretching from "brushing your arm against her breast "accidentally" to "rape", an over aggressive kiss (she consented to the kiss, just didn't know he was going to go open mouth I guess) is on the lighter side. As in "not rape."
You do know that they had a skit prepared where these two would kiss right? You do know the allegations is that in rehearsal he kissed 'too aggressively'. So no, it isn't a black and white open and shut 'he's a sexual abuser' case espeically when the accusation is of a rehearsal that PLANNED a kiss. But they should investigate it as Franken mentioned and if need be, he should resign.
Stepping away from the graphic demonstration of the dysfunction of American political discourse. Interested - Does owning up to it and apologizing have any effect on your final judgement? I get the impression that conservatives view apologies as weakness and prefer Roy Moore style stonewalling and denial, even in the face of overwhelming evidence, while liberals just want the perp to come clean and are perhaps more enraged by the continued cover up than the actual crime It seems to demonstrate to me something fundamental in the difference in temperament between the two species.
No offense, but you're wasting your time talking to the pseudo-patriarch of the board. He's OK with vagina clutching, after all.
Not what he said, but can you really complain since you're okay with Donald Trump walking up and "grabbing them by the p***y?" I'm also curious what you and your country club buddies talk about behind closed doors since apparently that is just considered "locker room talk" to you.
Lots of people caught up in the tsunami of change - which is great, that we can get closer to true equality. Re; Franken - the pic - I took as a comedian making an inappropriate joke (doesn't look like an actual grope to me). The Kiss however - that is over the line - whether he meant that as a joke as well, or an advance, it is a violation. None of those however compare to dating or groping a 14 year old girl, there are degrees of impropriety here.... Franken's is on the lower end - while Moore's is the opposite. Each case needs to be taken on it's own merits. DD
Interesting that we managed to get 9 pages out of Harvey Weinstein, and the laundry list of s**t that came out about him, but Frankin is already at 7 in less than 12 hours. And how many pages is the GHW Bush misconduct thread at with the new allegations from today? Follow the money - qui bono. That comment isn't specific to this thread but all these misconduct threads. Is there any benifit to be made in banging the war drums? That will let you know whether someone will care or not.
bigtexxx is so desperate to portray all dems as hypocrites and he's failing hard at it. One of the more pathetic things I've seen today. Out of 7 pages of posts he could only find one example (B-Bob) even though how many liberals have posted here? I'll even be nice and give him that B-Bob example even though I disagree that he's trying to excuse Franken's behavior. Guess 1 out of 20 ain't bad
Trumpkins in this thread are simply hypocrites. The Pussygrabber-in-Chief verbally admitted to his sexual assault tactic of choice.
This thread is a contrast in many things. Al Franken - What he did was wrong. Roy Moore, Donald Trump - What they did was wrong. That's where the similarity ends. Al Franken - admitted he was wrong, invited congressional investigation into what he is accused of doing, and apologized. Roy Moore, and Donald Trump - still try to deny ever doing anything wrong despite the evidence to the contrary. Donald Trump even admitted sexual assault but later claimed he was lying about it. Both of them have tried to smear, attack and shame the alleged victims of their cases. Al Franken - left-wing supporters have called for an investigation of Franken, and spoken out against what he did. Roy Moore, and Donald Trump - There are a variety of reactions from s. Some have said that no matter what Moore did none of it is as bad as voting for a Democrat. Others have called on Moore to resign, but haven't gone beyond that. Some have called the tape Trump bragging about sexual assault bad, but haven't stopped supporting him, called for his resignation, and have tried to rationalize away Trump's comments, sexual harassment settlements, and the many reports of his harassing of women. It is amazing the contrast on so many levels between the two parties and how they've handled the incidents.
Yes, if the victim is satisfied. As to whether or not this person should be representing the people of Minnesota, that should be up to them. Unfortunately, they aren't voting again until 2020, so I imagine they will do a dog and pony show in the Senate about "ethics" and then he'll be a chastised but ultimately allowed to continue as the creepiest Senator and SNL alumn.
