I do hate how Samsung by default let's apps like ESPN high jack the screen brightness and pump it up merely because they play video. I think about a third of their issues could be fixed if they were opt in instead of opt out.

Also, don't even get me started on how they screw over users who want to use a non Samsung keyboard (hence why this post is edited too).

The predictive text on that phone is a b****. It corrects even if the word is spelled right. That was so unbelievably frustrating.
I mean the whole phone is frustrating. If I were you go get the Motorola Z2 Force. That phone is so much better. It's a no-brainer if you have jump on demand. Find a store and ask them if they have that phone available usually it's not out on display it's in the back.

If I were to swap it would be for a pixel 2 xl. Both by LG, but the Google touch is nice. Chances are I will bide my time on this horrendous decision.

The reason I didn't consider the pixel was because it has been reported to have burn in problems, which just so happens I had with the Samsung S8, in addition to the pink huge issue and since I broke the display I wasn't able to return it to Samsung for another one under warranty. Sucks.

That stinks. The Pixel does have a 2 year warranty for the screen though. Also, look at how they treated customers who had battery issues with the Nexus 6p, they gave them a free Pixel XL in trade.

@rezdawg here is what I mean by a better app folder. The Samsung Galaxy S8 when you open the drawer it goes to full screen.

    Why?

If you don't like it buy a new phone lmfao. TouchWiz used to be absolute garbage back in the day, so most Samsung users are used to it, myself included.

Unless you are migrating to one of LG's high end phones like the G6 or the V20, or moving ecosystems to the Apple line, there is no alternative when it comes to a high-end processor with OLED technology that doesn't have two week burn in like the Pixel 2.

Love my s8. Battery charging does take longer than my old phone. Fast charge isn't all that fast. Hate Bixby so I disabled it. Other than that, I love everything about it. Can't wait until Samsung gets the fingerprint via screen working.

Was that a default setting? I don't remember.

As far as the keyboard goes... I'm using Google's Gboard just fine, is the new 8/Note 8 line restrictive when it comes to 3rd party keyboards?

I looked at the latest Note and it's a lot better than the 8+

@what, you got robbed. Call the POLICE.

I bought my v20 second hand and love playing music on it. I bet the V30 is nicer, but I'm cheap enough to wait.

Your screenshot on this post shows....”you are logged in as bobreksgmailusername”. Did you post some sort of google drive link that automatically picks up current google usernames?

It's a Google Drive Link, so if you click on the little box at the top right is probably going to take you to your Google Drive

It's more in terms of dictionary management. Things like spell check work better on Nexus because the dictionary was local to the device and not the app. So I use SwiftKey on both devices. I like swiftkey and kept at it. The issue is, the dictionary on the Samsung S8+ is local to the samsung keyboard. Because of it, if you use a third party keyboard, you won't always get dictionary/spelling support unless said keyboard already comes with it. I also like the idea that the dictionary can be the same across all keyboards regardless. It's trivial yes, but it does end up producing spelling errors that would normally get highlighted by that annoying red line we are used to (but now are unseen unless using the standard Samsung keyboard).

Stock Android is the only way to experience Android. I don't care if the hardware is perfect, the software is just as important.

The DAC sound is really nice - I don't think anyone else offers it.
