Sigh.... don't we just have to win 6 games? 2 out of the next 3?

Do you really want someone Nick Saban fired?

Yup. I figure we beat Kansas and almost certainly lose @WVU. The question is at home vs Tech. They've lost most of their conference games thus far, but I think they've been reasonably competitive and they tend to really get up for that game. With our mess of an offense, I'm not sure what to expect there.

I wonder how the defense will play without Holton Hill?

Shane can't play without decent protection, Sam needs to start and finish off the season

If you damn Reptile/Amphibians don't beat the Land Thieves, I'm not sure we can be internet friends anymore.

Were you in the same room with Red when he announced that Gruden should be the next coach? Did you pat him on the back then?

    Injury update From Chip Brown:
LB Jeffrey McCulloch is also out for Kansas and might be out for West Virginia too.

At least we're at home for Tech. Their fans keep the energy up for the enter game in Lubbock. I feel decent about making a Bowl if Sam starts but he needs to take it easy and start protecting himself. I don't think Shane can deal with a team that gets penetration. Those big sacks just kill drives. I think Sam is better at getting WRs the ball 5-8 years past the line so they can make their moves. It feels like Shane delivers 0-3 yards from the line much more often.

I just don't understand why no-one on this team can run the ball.

You're on Greg Davis's Xmas card list, aren't you?

They can't run the ball because their OL is terrible and their best RB (Carter) who apparently wants to practice doesn't get carries because of injuries or something. Grasping at straws, here.

    Per 247:

Junior cornerback Holton Hill, who last week was characterized by defensive coordinator Todd Orlando as maybe the frontrunner for any kind of team defensive MVP, has suffered his third strike in UT’s drug program, which means a suspension for 50 percent of the season (six games), according to multiple sources close to the situation.

So Hill will miss the rest of this season, and, depending on if Texas makes a bowl game, Hill would miss either two or three games at the start of next season, sources told Horns247.com.

If UT qualifies for a bowl game this season, Hill would miss the Maryland and Tulsa games next season. If UT doesn’t qualify for a bowl this season, Hill would miss the Maryland, Tulsa and USC games next season.

Sources said Hill served two one-game suspensions during last season for his first and second strikes in the drug program without coach Charlie Strong ever drawing attention to it. Hill played in only five games last season with three starts.

    Gruden would call better plays
    Maybe Jeff Fisher would too

Oh, just for drugs. NFL won't care. So yep, looks like Hill will be declaring and drafted in a decent spot.

Well, hopefully it's just weed. I'm not sure if they'll ask him when he is going into the draft. I don't think players are drug tests in the off-season. Chronic failed drug tests should concern teams a little. Didn't Ricky Williams quit because he would have had a ridiculous suspension because he couldn't give up weed?

If it's anything other than weed then I think NFL teams would be every concerned.

Oh they'll ask that for sure along with anything else you could imagine. Also, he'll get tested at the combine if invited which I think he would.

The offense is abysmal, and the offensive line is as bad as I've ever seen it at Texas. The coaches seem lost without the ability to establish the running game. There are certainly depth and talent deficiencies, but that doesn't excuse some or most of what we've seen.

The referees killed all enjoyment of the game with their nonstop reviews (the NCAA has to do something about this. They were reviewing plays that had no bearing on the outcome of the drive, let alone the game); there is no reason a game against Kansas should last 4 hours. That said, our inability to run the ball means more passing which means more stoppages in play.

I'm glad Texas won a game they were supposed to win. But, frankly, I don't see them winning both at West Virginia and against Tech.
