http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/21319059/luol-deng-los-angeles-lakers-hopeful-play-elsewhere A Lakers source confirmed that the team has met with Deng's representatives to find a solution -- via trade or buyout -- that would allow him the opportunity to play more.

You bring up a good point. He wont choose us because we wont get as much play time as he wants. Its a low risk move for us to go after him though. You can never have too many perimeter defenders against golden state.
Trade? Probably not. Buyout, maybe. But then again Deng would have many offers if bought out, some promising more minutes.
He played really good as a small ball PF 2 years ago before signing with the Lakers. I think he would fit just fine with our team. If he is bought out he's clearly a huge upgrade to the roster and I would welcome him with open arms.
For the vet min after a buyout, yes please! For a trade? Not even if we were out of our effing minds.
I forgot he was still in the league. If there's a worse contract than Ryan Anderson, Deng is one of them. 4 years, $72M LoL Angles Lakers
All of my Laker fan friends say he’s just been absolute garbage when on the floor. He sounds like he’s really regressed. Such a shame. He was a really quality player back in Chicago.
This is exhibit A of why you don't just use cap space just because. It will take 1st round/2nd round picks and/or young players attached to move this contract. Now they will have a hard time trying to form a super team which was their vision next season with Paul George.
I've never seen a Duke player who was underpaid. That was my only knock on Battier too. And this is coming from an alumnus.
