32.1% FG% +15.1 On/off Plus Minus Still small sample size, but somehow, the team plays better in his minutes even with his shots clanking. This can't keep up, can it?
In the Rockets three losses, Rockets have a -10 pt differential average PJ has a -16 On/off Plus Minus on 20% FG% Still small sample size, but somehow in our losses, the team plays worse in his minutes even with his shots clanking. This can't keep up, can it?
At this point he’s a more versatile ariza defensively with similar offensive stats. I like it! *clyde voice
I hope his FG percentage will go up soon. Once Paul comes back, he will be able to play better on offense, while maintaining his defensive versatility.
I like the guy. I really hope his fg% goes up and gets really accustomed to the Rockets play style. The sooner he does that, the sooner we can really reduce Ariza's minutes.
Paying 8x4 for the guy was a mistake. Morey has had some good FA signings but this was another overpay for a FA. He's a vet min at best.
As of now, Mbah a Moute has performed better than Tucker. Yet, Tucker is not necessarily bad value at the MLE. His shooting will improve. His defensive versatility and rebounding prowess allow us to experiment with new lineups. His last year is only partially guaranteed. I don't think he will be tough to trade if required. In the meantime he will help the team win some games.
The “LeBron Stopper”, as he was affectionately known in Toronto, will pick it up offensively by Dec. It’s his defense that he is concentrating on, to start the season. I mentioned before the season how “Shake-n-Bake” (Luc MaM/PJ) would help improve the Rockets tremendously.....especially on the defensive end.
He signed for less than league average salary, which defines the MLE. fwiw: 4th year is only partially guaranteed to the Vet minimum. Also, we weren't the only team offering him the MLE.
Pretty sure the other offers were for Full MLE. So, more based upon more per year (but on 3yr deals), because we needed to preserve some of the MLE for Zhou (right?). But ours was more for total contract (roughly). We made up for it by giving him a 4th year, but that 4th year is only guaranteed to the Vet Min. spotrac is down right now, so I can't 100% re-confirm the partial year, but I've looked it up before...so pretty certain.
Toronto offered more. 4th year is partial. Just cause other teams were willing to offer more, doesn't mean he's worth it. Washington offered Ryno similar, is he worth it? Much rather have Luc on PJs contract, and vice versa. This opens up the argument, would Luc play as hard then? Luckily, him and Ryno will expire at the same time if we exercise his option. Same applies for Gordon and Ryno. For every catch we got, we got a passable dud. SIL
Wow you guys are really negative nancies. At least my complaints are about real issues. Tucker is doing just fine and is not overpaid. Saying we didn’t need to offer him as much as we did is just silly. Only our own fans could **** on a guy who 29 other teams would love to him and is praised by every in and around the league this year.
I notice him alot in transition. In years past guys would just get a free run at the hoop on the fast break but he some ability to stop guys going full speed in their tracks and force them into a tough look.
