Homeboy look at Melo stats in OKC and u will see Not making that trade is a blessing in disguise. Melo would have hurt our ball movement
Eh....idk about all that. Melo is averaging more assists, steals and blocks than Ryno. While neither player is known for passing, Melo does that more and better.
Melo shot selection hasn’t changed much in OKC. He still takes a ton of tough, highly contested midrange jumpers and still likes to go 1 on 1. It might be a different story if he was here, but that style of play could just be ingrained in his head and will never change.
Obviously Melo is better than Ryno, but he ain't better than Eric Gordon, who we have locked down on a BEAUTIFUL contract. Anyone that thinks we should have traded Eric Gordon for Carmelo Anthony is insane. (Let alone Ariza or Capela too as I have read around here)
Also, If you are going to have a bad contract, Ryan Anderson is the bad contract to have. Excellent player that is having a great year.
Kevin Durant but ya I get your point Ryno is a good player just overpaid by 6-7m a year. If he was making 13-14m a year he would be a hot commodity and the knicks would have taken him for melo.
I think melo would have been great here because he would be in a structured real offense. Plus harden and cp3 are just better players and playmakers than Westbrook and pg13. In okc they don't run anything they just through the ball out let russ do his thing and that's that. The NBA is to good to play like that and until okc get him playing in a new sophisticated offense than it doesn't matter who they put around him. I never got the okc hype. If he couldn't win with KD I don't know why ppl thought paul George was gonna be a better fit. That's just people slobbering over Westbrook and trying to trick there head into believing he's something he not. He's hyped like he's the best player since JORDAN. To me there is the big 5 I would take over him Lebron, KD, steph, harden and Kawi. But also some young guns like Giannis, Towns and Davis over him.
Exactly. As I said before, unless he reaches all star level (which will never happen here) he won’t perform to that contract. I’ve seen very few people say he’s worthless. But I’ve seen plenty say he’s overpaid and his contract hurts the team. There is realistic no way Ryno will EVER play well enough to justify that contract with the salary cap where it currently is. No amount of stats or anything Melo does or fails to do will change that. Anderson is making All star money but giving you no where near all star production. It’s a toxic contract, how it became on is irrelevant. No need to get defensive when people point out the obvious
The thing is the other contenders don’t have bad contracts at all. When the margin is so close these things kill you.
Melo>ryno but ryno is a better fit. Melo is taking shots away from westbrick and that’s not good for them.
Per Feigen... Over the past six games, Ryan Anderson has averaged 16.7 points on 47.2 percent shooting and 40 percent 3-point shooting. He averaged 7.8 points on 33.3 percent shooting, 30.4 percent 3-point shooting in the first four games.
Just on time right back to earth with 6 freaking pts in 30 mins of play. You can't count on Anderson to keep up good performances. He is a mental midget.
Name 1 nonstar stretch PF making more than 20M a year. I don't have anything against Anderson and if he was only making 7M a year I wouldn't say a thing but other contenders don't have 1 dimensional scorers making 20M and putting just 13 pts on the board and being a net negative at everything else.
Lmao! You are kidding right? He only took like 4 shots because harden was EN FUEGO. Did you want him taking hardens FGAs tonight? Or are you being sarcastic and I fell for it lol
come on, man. You mean that literally? People are posting the stats in this thread. Are you ignoring all those stats?
