Don't think I'll go. Drove by earlier this morning. Ppl already sitting on lawn chairs in the parking lots.
If you aren't at City Hall by 9am I honestly think you're screwed. I plan on riding my bike into downtown around 11:30. No way I'm driving anywhere near there.
You know a ton of people will hop on board when a team wins a title, it's to be expected, but even I'm a little surprised by how many people are suddenly Astro fans.
I'm not surprised. I don't blame people for not coming out in the 100-loss seasons. But even this season when it was clear that it was setting up to be something special, there were still so many empty seats throughout the season. It's good for the team and it made a lot of people feel good. I remember the glow over the city after the Rockets won. There was such a positive feeling all over the area for 2 years. It's silly, in a way, but it really does something to a city...especially one like ours that needed something good...aside from the craving of a championship. That said, I'm staying home today. I'll watch on tv. I think I've hit my limit. I went to game 5 and I think I'm still recovering from that.
I want to go so bad but not gonna let the traffic and congestion ruin my euphoria for this. I'll watch it, would love to go party downtown but just don't think it's worth the hassle.
I forgot what weekend it was, and I realized yesterday evening I have to play host to a couple of buddies. Also, I slept for ~12 hours last night, haven't done that in forever. Way too many nights of minimal sleep in the past few weeks, then I get to do it all weekend. Ugh. Any idea if it'll be on TV outside of Houston? Or internet?
On my way to work at 8am, I already saw Metro train packed with a sea of orange. I hope every1 have fun and enjoy once in a lifetime experience. I hope we break records have over 1 millions more than Clutch City. Historically this Astros crown maybe the best ever for our city (1st for Stros, Harvey, beat legendary teams, best World Series ever). Color me Orange!!!
Yeah, I'm sure it'll be on the MLB Network now that I think about it. Hopefully the whole thing and not just "live look in" type stuff. sportsHD.me streams mlbnet 24/7 for those that need a stream.
Come on all you guys, come out and support the damn Astros!!! Do whatever it takes to be there and show love support to the team! We need the whole city to be out there!
My building is at Smith and Dallas (One Allen Center), which is pretty much the beginning and end of this thing. The streets are already PACKED. I got to work at 9:00 AM and had trouble finding parking. It's going to take all night for me to get out of here today. Oh well, glad to see the city turn out!
Wish I could. Stupid friends and stupid opening weekend of deer season getting in the way. Everybody have a ****ing loud, fun, safe time!
So much BS; should be MC790 and Chris Gordy doing this live parade feed on 790 but nooooooooo, the Anus fella and mud decide to do a show, when they never ever ever do any Astros pre or post game broadcasting. Straight BS and a GD shame for the season long supporting, went to training camp and took it till the end, Michael Conner and Chris Gordy.
