Just as I predicted Darvish gets the start in deciding game pitches a gem, gurriel goes 0-4. Ultimately Darvish gets payback for racial slur tonight

I'll be soooo/toooo nervous if they aren't hitting in the first few innings.

Missed opportunity in the 5th inning - no out and had runners on 2nd and 3rd - usually leads to 2+ runs.

Not so worried about our pitching. I really hope we can score 4+ runs today. Get to Darvish early!

My bet is Darvish pitches a near no hitter tonight motivated by the racial slur

Yuli is way too valuable to can just for one politically incorrect mistake. You want to give up on the dude because he made an immature joke on national tv?

    You can't be serious.

Squandering scoring opportunities. They got hits and runners were on base in scoring position. But they never could get timely hits when they needed them. Reddick had an awful strikeout(I think after being ahead in the count 3-0) with runners on 2nd and 3rd and nobody out. And then Bregman grounded out to end that inning. Plus unless I'm remembering wrong, Altuve and Correa got zero hits combined.

The other major factor was Verlander running into trouble in the 6th. Especially hitting the batter in the foot to put runners on 1st and 2nd with nobody out. Get that out and we're probably looking at no worse than 1-1 going into the 7th. The Astros may have still lost, but the entire complexion of the game changes.

I know it's oversimplifying things, but the Astros simply need to score. They're not gonna win a 1-0 or 2-1 pitchers duel, especially on the road.

    bullpen should be a worry.
even if it's Keuchel. He hasn't been good since game 1 against NY.
Morton's been better "of late". Is he going to be available? I assume so.

    McCuller, Morton, Keuchel? Maybe Peacock.

One would assume that you don't touch Giles. I mean logic would tell you he has to have 1 good inning in him, but of course he's give up 5 earned runs in getting 5 outs in the WS.

In any case... it's really weird, but i'd probably agree with the general premise of if they're not hitting it's a bigger problem than worrying about the pitching.

What's the minimum number of runs scored needed to have a chance? It's definitely not 2. I'm think 4.

Alex Freaking Wood was no-hitting the Astros at MMP in Game 4 through 5 2/3 innings. If the hitters can't make contact tonight, it's on them, not because Darvish is motivated by something that apparently never even bothered him in the first place.

Not that long ago the A's were crushing run after run during the news of a flood of biblical proportions submerging God's greatest city. Relegated to play home games in front of 2 people in Florida, all seemed lost. This team though kept fighting and here we are, game seven of the world series. May the baseball gods be with us.

Definitely at least 4. The Dodgers haven't been held below 3 runs in any game in this series. Honestly, I think it'll take at least 6 to win this one tonight.

I'm surprisingly not anxious at all. I have a strong feeling of acceptance and relaxation. No matter what, the battle finally ends tonight.

Both are great teams, both have heart, and both have laid it all on the line so far. It's only fitting that this goes 7.

I hope astros are also feeling relaxed and ready to just go out there and have fun today.

I can absolutely see the Astros trading Gurriel after this. Blue Jays Yunel Escobar (another Cuban) made a similar slur a few years back and they traded him over that.

    Yep, you're right. Good point.

And in their wins, the Stros scored 7, 5 and 13.

Bats need to be on, end of story.

Gurriel ain't going anywhere. The Astros lose Game 5 without him. And he did get at least one hit yesterday, so playing in Dodger Stadium after the controversy isn't phasing him.

Right because he needed motivation to pitch in the WS. This is silly
