I'd rather have the third rounder

Sht if we get 3rds off of Bouye and Simon we might be drafting in the first. Seems a lot of you are sleeping on the potential compensatory picks we'll receive

Out 3rd rounders historically sucked. Jaelen, Braxton anyone?

Hopefully we can package them and just trade up.

So that means that 1/3 of Duane Brown's snaps came against Dwight Freeney (some came against no one) and he still got wrecked on multiple plays....again, you are defending a guy who played like ass by pretending he played like he did once upon a time when he was a better palyer.

The trade got significantly better now. Just getting a 3rd round pick for a locker room cancer that is over the hill would have been amazing, but a 2nd too? I think it's time we give Smith some props for fleecing the Seachickens.

Nice trade for Texans but that worked out pretty damn well for Brown too. Planned it perfectly. Missed $3.8m in checks to stay healthy, get traded, and get an extension. Came back in time to audition for Seattle and get his service time for the year. McNair's comments gave Brown the opportunity to call his comments an embarrassment which certainly made the trade more likely. We'll see whatever guaranteed money he gets. Nicely done.

Not good for Seattle; they only have 500k left

Don't have to defend him but you're just wrong about this whole scenario that Freeney dominated. If you don't like Brown fine but damn you're just making stuff up. At any rate Brown is history, but this franchise better upgrade this damn offlensive line and the secondary or they're just spinning their wheels.

They've looked pretty good all season long while Duane Brown was off playing with crystals. It's kind of funny that so many people think he matters.

When a trade goes from good, to great, and you lose nothing, you get an A+.

Let’s not forget, we are 0-1 with Duane on the team. It was time to move on.

Grand slam home run trade for the Texans. They robbed the Seahawks.

No, the trade is not better now. It’s worse. I’m still glad they made it, but throwing in that 5th round pick was stupid. Now we are back to normal Rick Smith mode. If anything, the Seahawks needed this trade, so they should have kicked in something extra (not just a higher pick) to make up for their player failing his physical. Smith was taken advantage of here.

like what? They threw in the 3rd round pick.

In any case, we're certainly a worse team. And we also cut Kendall Lamm when we activated Brown. Who takes that spot?

LOL seriously? The Texans got a 2nd and a 3rd and the Seachickens got a 5th and a washed up locker room cancer. Smith absolutely fleeced the Seachickens.

Yeah, I wanted help NOW on the defensive side though. The original trade would have done that, this one doesn’t.

The team isn't in "win now" mode though. Watson is still a rookie and the defense is missing WAY too many key contributors to think they are going anywhere this season. The picks help them a lot more honestly. They have enough to trade up into the first now.

Apparently Lane's health would have prevented the original trade from helping NOW.

You continuing to ignore the obvious won't change the facts kiddo. There's literally no case that Duane Brown wasn't a cancerous presence in the locker room....even if you agreed with the race baiting narrative that he was using in an effort to divide the locker room.

Come on man, everyone in that locker room and probably even most of the front office still respect Duane Brown. When players say it’s a business just go ahead and believe them. Until you can find one quote otherwise you’re way out of line calling him a cancer. Find one of the Seahawks that isn’t happy to have him while you’re a team it. Washed up, according to what? Rusty for sure, anyone in their first game back would be. That a team like the Seahawks would give up so much for him I said an indication of his talent. Kinda like your obnoxious analysis indicates things.

Look, I’m not here for the political debate. There’s a whole forum dedicated to people yelling inaccuracies and never shaking hands. But I’m not stupid either and I see that the bridge between he and the front office was too far to cross. They were steadfast in not paying him and got an offer that couldn’t be refused. He is, he was the greatest OL we’ve had to date. He was a generous man with his time and money in our community. I personally don’t even really agree with his politics but he deserves a thanks from this fanbase...not the derogatory, spiteful, eyes closed, arms crossed foot stomping that seems rampant.
