Would be great if the Astros can win tonight's game in blow out fashion and not have to sweat out the late innings.

A pinch hitter is likely only going to succeed 27% of the time, while Verlander is 68% to throw 2 shutout innings. If it’s a 1 run lead, bases loaded, 2 out, 7th or 8th inning, I would stick with Verlander if he’s less than 100 pitches. You’ve got to trust the numbers.

I agree unless he's out of gas late and you have multiple guys on base with 2 outs. If we have a lead late and he can still go then no reason to PH.

Giles? My bad. It's all running together. The Astros have blown a lot of leads in the last four games. I guess they weren't all 3-run leads.

I dreamt last night that the Astros destroyed the Dodgers tonight 20-2. That likely means we lose 1-0 haha.

Verlander, if he's gone 7 innings of no-hit, shutout ball is >>> 68% to throw 2 shutout innings. Verlander, if he's gone 4 innings of 12 hit, 8 ER (just for illustration's sake) is <<< 68% to throw 2 shutout innings. You can trust the numbers, but at a minimum you have to be willing to use Verlander's game performance for context.

A Houston sports team is 1 win away from a championship.

If Astros win, there are a lot of MVP candidates

    Springer: 7-21, 3 HRs, 4 RBIs, 4 BBs, 5 runs, 2 doubles
    Correa: 7-21, 2 HRs, 5 RBIs, 3 runs, 1 BB, 1 double
    Altuve: 6-24, 2 HRs, 5 RBIs, 4 runs, 2 doubles
    Bregman: 6-22, 2 HRs, 5 RBIs, 2 BBs, 5 runs, 1 double
    Gurriel: 5-20, 2 HRs, 4 RBIs, 1 BB, 2 runs, 3 doubles

Thinking in terms of defense as well. I don't think anyone has ever had a finer postseason than Bregs at 3rd. He has made some very important plays on the D side of the ball.

I had this conversation with a buddy last night. Altuve will automatically win it. He is the fan favorite/national darling and seemingly has come up clutch as hell cause of game 5.

Certainly seems that way but this series is impossible to predict. You never know what emotion will take over that locker room. You assume they will be tight.

However, astros have proven that people can overcome that. Bregman said they had their backs against the wall so much in game 6 that they just talked to each other and said screw it, who cares, lets just have fun playing the sport we love and go out there loose and enjoying ourselves.

Impossible to predict how the emotions of astros and dodgers will play out in this game tonight.

I haven't had this type of feeling in the pit of my stomach since I was 14 years old and the Rockets were playing the Jazz in the WCF. I'm excited, nervous, terrified, anxious, confident, hopeful, and a little nauseous from the stress. And I wouldn't have it any other way. HOW 'BOUT HOUSTON?!?!?
