I don't think Fertita has another 2B to buy the Texans.

So players want a change of ownership.

This thing has completely spiraled out of control.

So the players are going to kneel during the national anthem to stick it to Bob McNair, but will now piss off the fans who don't like players kneeling during the anthem? Who the hell came up with that great idea? Oh that's right, it's the only option that allows them to "protest" without getting fined. So the players believe in their right to protest the owner's comments, but will be damned if they'all lose a dime standing up for their rights. This is not free speech or the right to exercise what you believe in --- it's a bunch of spoiled athletes who can't pull their collective heads out of their asses. "I'll stand for what I believe in so long as it doesn't make me lose money." --- Yeah way to show how committed you are to the "cause".

I've heard former players on television and read comments online and can't believe how many people have misconstrued McNair's comments. Even if he did refer to the players as inmates (which he did not), how is that racist? Perhaps it is the perception that inmates are of a particular race, but the last time I checked there are inmates of all nationalities and color. Every NFL team is made up of the same melting pot as well and yet the comments are still considered racist towards a particular group.

The funniest comment I have heard I say that the players are not "owned". That is correct they are not, however you do play for a team that is "owned" by the owner, chairman, CEO, president of operations, whatever label you want to give that person. At the end of the day, it is that person's money that lines your pockets for the job that you do. When was the last time an owner paid their cattle millions of dollars? I don't remember hearing cattle meeting with the owners, the league and their union representation to discuss player salaries and how tv revenue money will be split.

Everyone has the right to stand up for what they believe in and express their opinions. The players want to use their position to stand up for their beliefs --- even if they are misguided. If the protest that the players want to stage was just, then I could see their point, but that's not what this is. If the players were going to protest, why play the game? Why get on that plane and fly to Seattle? Why not peel that sticker off your helmet? Money. As much as these guys hate Bob McNair right now, it still comes down to money. So if the years do kneel, protest or whatever it is they choose to do, it's half-assed at best. The real protest would've been not to make the trip.

If the entirety of this report is true, and I have serious doubts that it is then BoB deserves some of the blame. Obviously he needed to address the reports of McNair's comments to the team, but reading them out of context of the discussion and without explaining the concept of an idiom to the room seems irresponsible.

Also... In this instance Strahan is right. Just how ignorant is this going to make the team look?

In the end I hope the players realize that they are playing for their teammates, their careers, their coaches, their families, the City of Houston, and personal pride. Please remain professional and go get the job done.

If you are being sarcastic that's at least a trillion times more insensitive and ignorant than anything McNair said.

Bring in replacement players for all I care. I'm sick of this crap, like many viewers.

I don’t think BOB did anything wrong. He has to side with the players (if he did that) to get them ready for a game still.

Man this situation is just ugly.

Dumb dumb comment by McNair even though I'm not sure how it's turned into a race issue.

But I don't really give two ***** about Duane Brown.

How is he the team leader? Guy hasn't been with the team all season. If he is the team leader than this team has some serious problems.

How ironic that the most vocal guy is the one who wants to be cut or traded.

I love the NFL it's a great sport to watch but this season has really turned me off. There is less and less talk about the product and more talk about the politics.

If I want politics I'll tune into CNN.

The NBA and MLB have done and amazing job in this department. I'm not sure what went wrong with the NFL.

There is major flaws on both sides and neither the players or owners understand this.

At the end of the day you got to be about your money and taking care of your family period, everything else is secondary.

I agree with that. He knows that he's dealing with unprofessional simpletons, he's gotta do everything he can to get them to focus on doing their jobs rather than throwing temper tantrums. It's not an enviable position to be in.

The reason why it's turned into a race issue is because the players (Duane Brown, in particular) want to find some way to continue their racial pity party. So they found a comment they thought they could use, and ran with it.

I think some of it comes from entitled athletes who are jealous of the pay in the NBA and MLB and feel as though they are getting mistreated and "slave" wages.

The MLB and NBA don't have kneelers because they make more money, have a better labor deal, and are not going to rock the boat.

But didn't you hear that McNair was upset that Obama won in 2008? He's clearly a racist, slave owning, white supremacist.

No seriously Hurrican Harvey brought the city together and made Houston look great. Bob McNair's comment did the opposite. Reminded the organization of the promises they made to play for the city of Houston with tbe devastation of hurricane harvey is literally the only thing i could think of to get these guys to play right on the field today.

Fair enough... I thought you were being facetious. In the end playing for the City of Houston and the people that support your career should be motivating.

The players should do it. I'm sure Bill O'Brien is saying this. Don't lose focus of what we promised the fans of Houston after the devastating hurricane.
