Oh, I'm not saying what some people find offensive, I'm saying what actually is offensive and what isn't actually offensive. People can whine about anything if they feel like it but when they are whining about things that aren't actually offensive, they should be called out for it.

If you take an idiom literally in order to be offended, you are an idiot. Simple as that, but I'm not saying you aren't an idiot that unjustly feels offended. That could absolutely be the case.

Some, sure. I think you can find several instances of ignorant black people associated with this ridiculous incident....but they aren't ignorant because they are black, they are ignorant people who just happen to be black. There are ignorant people of all kinds.

I know, that's probably too advanced of a concept for you to grasp immediately. By all means, take your time to digest it and see if you can work through it.

Let's hope that Bob McNair doesn't tell his team "In bocca al lupo" before the game, the dumb bastards will probably think that he wants them mauled by wolves.

As a young child, Deandre Hopkins’ mom was doused in acid, the attacker when to jail. When he thinks of inmate, the man who attacked his mom comes to mind. McNair, in Hopkins’ mind, equated him to that man when he used the term ‘inmates’. So to call him ignorant for being mad about what McNair said is ignorant in itself because there’s a very legitimate and obvious reason as to why he was mad and offended.

Being a mid 20s black male, sadly statistics say I should’ve ended up in jail at some point but I chose the right path and ended up with a college degree. Many(not all) NFL players stayed out of trouble and jail and have made a better life for themselves. I’d be offended if after all I’ve worked for to get where I was I’m still just viewed as or equated to an ‘inmate’.

I completely understood what Bob McNair was trying to say, he just had the worst choice in how to portray that message. His overall message wasn’t bad, his delivery was.

And equating black males to inmates if they’re not is offensive @Bobbythegreat. If a large portion of players are saying that it’s offensive, who are you to tell them they’re ignorant?

Bob McNair... only the 2nd owner in NFL history to employ a black GM (who is the 5th longest tenured non-owner GM)...

Nuk Hopkins having mommy issues doesn't make what Bob McNair said inappropriate and he didn't actually equate black males to inmates. If a large group of people are ignorant, they are still ignorant.

If I told players "In bocca al lupo" it wouldn't mean that I want them mauled by wolves even if one of them was attacked by a wolf as a child and was ignorantly triggered by what I said. Idioms have a meaning and that meaning won't change simply because someone doesn't understand it and it does mean that person is ignorant to the meaning. I mean, we're talking facts here. Anyone who doesn't understand the meaning of an idiom is by definition ignorant in that instance.....even if there is a large group of ignorant people.

Possibly, I mean we are talking about football players here, but I don't think it was everyone who acted like an idiot as a result of their ignorance about an idiom. I would say that absolutely Duane Brown, Nuk Hopkins, and Foreman are dumb though. I think they've sufficiently proven that with their words and actions.

There's probably more....like I said, we're talking about football players here and we know that as a result they likely have brain damage that causes poor judgement as a side effect.

....seriously? Are you trolling me here or are you really just "that guy"?

Ignorance doesn't have a race you simpleton. Why the hell would you think that I only see black people as ignorant? I mean, please tell me that you aren't this ridiculous and that this is all some shtick. I legitimately feel bad for you and those who have to be around you on a daily basis right now.

Republican unhappy Democrat is elected, film at 11.

Yet more evidence that Duane Brown is a complete and total moron. I honestly can't wait till he's off the team and forgotten about.

idiom....if you are going to use one, get it right. Because of the current climate between players and owners, calling the "inmates" was not the smartest move.....even if it was a mistake. The players know what he meant, but they are going to use it to their advantage to show what the owners think of the players. McNair played RIGHT into the players' hands in the court of public opinion.

The "inmates" part was the accurate part....the "prison" part was the incorrect part, they were supposed to be "inmates" in an "asylum" but he mixed the two up likely because the word "inmates" is more associated with "prison" than with "asylum"....but let's use that as an excuse to ignore the obvious and pretend to be offended.

As to playing right into the players' hands, only complete morons will be offended by Bob McNair's statement and those aren't really the people that matter....and as you suggested most are lying about being offended in the first place. Stupid people and liars are not your base of support anyway and they aren't a large enough group to matter.

"Bob McNair was referring to league officials" is about as convincing as "Eric Bledsoe was talking about being at a hair salon." Just apologize for your poor choice of words. The stupid excuse is only going to make the story linger longer.
