Are you losing track of what conversation you're replying to? I've said multiple times that given the context the use of the phrase comes across as racist. My only argument has been that he deserves the benefit of the doubt given his past history (or lack there of). He should be given a chance to address his comments to the team directly. Do you really think it is okay to crucify someone for misspeaking once and it coming across completely different than intended? If his further actions don't align with his public apologies, then please, crucify him for it. I just feel he should have the right to prove it was an innocent mistake.

It has racial undertones. McNair himself admitted that it was offensive. Only a fool would argue otherwise. McNair isn't defending McNair. Why should you?

I would if I was fortunate enough to have the genetics for it.

Context? Were you privy to the full conversation? No you read a cherry picked line and chose to get offended.
What do you call it when you add a personal narrative to a comment taken out of context?

McNair is defending himself. That is what an apology is. It is a defense against people questioning his character. He made it clear the literal sense is not what he was trying to say. If you believe other wise than you are ignorant. Anyone who is bringing up race is a borderline attention w****.

You said it was unfair to stereotype an old white man as a racist, omitting important facts. I suspect given the context, his misuse of the actual phrase. (Asylum vs prison) and the reactions from Texans players that there is much more to the story that we don't know, particularly since no Texans have kneeled and whatever role McNair has played in that.

Truly a really dumb thing to say with what 45 has said about how they are scared of the player just makes things worse.

    now people are acting stupid.

in a meeting about players kneeling for the anthem (most of the kneeling players are black) he referenced those black players as inmates. whether he got the idiom wrong or not, he was definitely addressing the black players.

and players wanting to peacefully protest against an issue that is important to them is hardly "running the prison or asylum". that's the biggest reach of all this.

Inmates running the "asylum" is a common expression. If Clutch says he has to change something about the site because members are taking advantage of something and usees this expression to describe the situation, is he a racist.

McNair's comments are about money. If the players had to take a pay cut on decline of popularity I'm sure the protests will be out the window

Because certain people in America are jumping up and down saying that racism and inequality do not exist. "They won't even admit a knife is there." - Malcolm X

This non-acknowledgement has been going on for decades in this country when discrimination was rampant and highly visible so what makes us think that things would be different in modern America. Germans are aware of their crappy past; Americans choose to play the stupid card.

He gets it. Not a racial issue but a money issue. Players are assets. Black, white, Latino alike

In his apology McNair said that he regretted using the expression, which means there was something wrong with it. He didn't defend that expression at all.

Yes, this would be remotely the same thing if Clutch was in a meeting about black posters on this site taking over. LOL. You are so off base. Just stop it.

In a meeting about business. An owner talks about how to run his company. This is precisely what happened. If you think he was being racist than you are just trying to sell something here.
