So tell me seamheads....what do the tea leaves say about this series as we head back to Houston 1-1 with Dodgers seeming to have pitching advantage in 2 of 3 games in H-town?

    Looking forward...

If we put 4.00+ ERA on Kershaw, Game 5 --- Game 1 appears a fluky familiarity-thing.

First World Series appearance for NL-only = Limited PAs against AL bats

    Advantage, SHAW.

Not sure what you are trying to say. Kershaw pitched well in game 1 because Kershaw is the best pitcher in baseball over the past 10 years.

Kershaw didn't pitch well, he pitched AWESOME.

What I'm saying is - and have been repeating for 2 days - f**k Kershaw's "greatness".

Astros are BETTER than him, and 4.50 ERA Sunday will make Game 1 seem more flukey than his greatness.

Darvish will get his dose too, tomorrow.

So because Verlander had a 4.50 ERA yesterday his other games this post-season were flukes?

    Ask Milo.

The Astros need to win at least one game.

MMP played this year as the best pitcher's park in MLB wrt runs, 3rd best wrt hits, and essentially tied (~16th) with Dodger Stadium for HRs.

The following article in the LA Times has details on when the roof for Minute Maid Park can be closed or must be open.

Houston Astros want the retractable roof at Minute Maid Park closed for Games 3, 4 and 5
    http://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgers/la-sp-dodgers-astros-notes-20171026-story.html

“The decision on an open or closed roof during postseason play rests with MLB, whose determination is based in part on the factors that guide the home club during the regular season,” league spokesperson Mike Teevan said.

In the regular season, the Astros have closed the roof when there are threats of rain, threats of sustained winds above 30 mph, temperatures below 65 degrees for a night game or temperatures or heat-index readings above 88 at night or 84 during the day.

Summary - The roof is closed when:
    1.) Rain
    2.) Winds above 30 MPH
    3.) Temperatures below 65 degrees
4.) Temperature or heat index above 84 degrees for day games and 88 degrees for night games.

    Oh, MAYNE !!!!!!

Most 100+ mph Batted Balls in a single game by HOU this season...

    August 4th - TOR - 13
    WS Game 2 - LAD - 12
    May 31st - MIN - 12
    July 17th - SEA - 11
    June 22nd - OAK - 11
    June 20th - OAK - 11

Playoffs should be more difficult than regular season... but since we're all-time ballers, f**k 1) the playoffs 2) LAD's vaunted bullpen and 3) Kershaw.

Astros hit Darvish well..Ill take McCullers and Morton at MMP over Wood or McCarthy. Kershaw vs the DH could make it tougher for him and Keuchel is better at home.

Dodgers have the weakest home field crowd I can remember in a World Series. We'll show them how it's done.

What advantage does McCullers have above EVERY other Astros starter this postseason?

A good stat-line on the road.

Big props because his road woes at career's beginnings were eye-popping.

    Shoutout to McHugh @ NYY

I'd be stunned if this thing didn't go back to LA. The starting pitching is too much of a crapshoot. McCullers and Morton were incredible in Game 7, but they were able to tag-team against the Yankees in a single game. In the World Series, they'll have to go individually in separate games and pair up with the bullpen who have been less than reliable to say the least. And even with Keuchel on the mound in Game 5, the Dodgers will roll out Kershaw.

I suppose as simplistic as it sounds, it comes down to the Astros offense. Score 6 or 7 runs and you probably win. Score only 2 or 3 and rely on your pitching to shut down the Dodgers and you're not clinching this thing at home.
