No doubt Yu gas great stuff and has pitched well against us in past. But, he has not pitched in this type of situation or setting. Each playoff game he has pitched this year has been with his team up 2-0, so the result of his game wasnt all that critical. And he sure as hell wont recognize MMP this time around! If Astros can put pressure on him early I can see him getting tagged.

Astros will take this in game 5 or 6. They are too good at home and Kuechal/Mccullers will pitch great at home. The unknown is how Morton will pitch, hopefully it's the same Morton from Game 7.

Regarding the roof the Astros have a general 65 - 85 degree temperature policy (roof closed if game time temp is below 65). The rain will be cleared out by game time Friday but the temps will be in the upper 50's to around 60 degrees at 7pm. So, we can point to our roof policy as to why the roof would be closed. Sunday may be warmer at 7pm.

I recall a class action lawsuit was attempted the last time the Astros were in the World Series. The complaint being that the temps dipped into the 40's in that extra inning game and led to fans getting sick.

I have a feeling this commissioner will prove more progressive and allow the roof to remain closed.

The fact that they now have that policy should help.

In 2005, there was no official policy for cold weather games.... and they actually tried to claim that the reason they wanted it closed was because "we play better when its closed"... and I believe THAT is where MLB stepped in and said that the roof is not to try and create a home field advantage, its for keeping out rain only, and it was going to be opened.

Well, it certainly didn't rain... but it was in fact uncomfortably cold those 2 nights... and if there had been any sort of policy in place for cold weather games (which had yet to be an issue in the parks 5 year existence at the time), it would have been enforced.

I do know 2005 was unseasonably cool throughout October... to the point that the Cardinals publicly argued against it being closed for game 3 and 4 day games, but figured the Astros controlled whether or not they wanted it open.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this or not, but the Dodgers were 98 and 0 when leading after 8 innings this yr.

That is until last night :D

Yeah it's crap that MLB made them keep the roof open. IMO, it's home field and you do what you want to the roof. If other teams have a problem with the closed roof, perhaps they should have their cities invest in their own retractable roofs.

I respect most that they used the orange star here, whereas fox sports has been using the blue star. I mean even espn uses the orange star.

He had to do something, lol. Maybe this was the fire that lit us up. A brawl on Friday woulD be epic. Bat flips, bar brawls, fires, bull pen assailants, rowdy fans... all normally distractions, but we needed it.

My guess would be one of two that might set him off:

If they were knowledgeable about the Astros / baseball:

"I still can't believe you guys traded Aoki for Liriano!"

If they were not as knowledgeable about the Astros / baseball:

"So, you're the manager of that Texas team, the Rangers?"

Captain Kirk joined starfleet because of a bar brawl. And i am pretty sure a bar brawl led Keanu Reeves to a big win over the Cowboys in the replacements. So it happens in Hollywood.

Also the Astros logo is the best logo of all time. All sports. Love it.

    It's not exactly a hitter's nightmare.
