I mean it's easy to see that he's either a troll , mentally challenged , or 8 years old .

I've ignored him and now I just see the pile on lol .

Reading his rationale was making me dumber

Ahh sweet surrender now that someone is throwing random stats back at you? One of those guys.

This was all in response to you saying Clint couldn't defend the post against high level players, including Joel Embiid who he usually does a really nice job on. He was defending Pau Gasol and Lamarcus Aldridge playing their absolute hardest in a playoff setting, and he did a fantastic job as your eyeballs should have seen, and all the stats I just posted certainly suggest.

Def.Rtg of 108.3 at #105 in Defensive Rating in last years playoffs.
#58 in defensive winshares in last years playoffs.

Where do you get your "Stats"?

By comparison: NENE at #15 with a Def.Rtg of 97.

Who are exactly the better options available? Cousins is obviously a no brainer, he's a true superstar talent who's in his prime. But outside of DMC, I can't think of any "easy" no brainers who will be on the market. The other 3 upcoming free agent C's that could have arguments made for over Capela are Jordan, Lopez, Noel

Would the upgrade Jordan brings be worth the age and $$ difference? What about the free throw problem?

Is the offense Lopez brings more valuable then Clints substantial rebounding and athletecism advantages, is the age difference worth it, what about his health?

Is Noel even better then Capela, what about his health?

And the most important factor, are any of these players worth the hassle of opening up the cap for if we couldn't complete a S&T? To me the answer is a no on that part, I would only consider Jordan/Noel if they are attainable through a S&T, and of course their contracts would have to be competetive comparitively to what Clint would sign for. Hopefully we will be able to see what Clint can do this season before we ask those questions. So far, Clint has had some big games.

    In his first 5 games, averaging 24.8 minutes - 15.4 points, 11.4 rebounds, 1.6 blocks, 1.2 steals, FG% .729, FT% .875

That's some major stat sheet filling for just 25 minutes a game. Obviously it's a small sample size, but it's better then not. What's also impressive, is that this has been without Paul. That being said, I have noticed he has had more laps in his focus defensively then previous years which isn't great, but he does look bigger and he has done a better job holding his own with post defense, but his perimeter defense seems to have suffered from some of his weight gain. Still, small sample size, hopefully he's just knocking off some early season rust.

Here's to hoping Capela has a great season, here's to hoping for Cousins.

Capela is going to be better than Jordan, he already is on the offensive end and has the talent to be on the defensive end.

He is the best Swiss dude I can remember. Better than Thabo.

Cousins has some issues on the brain department plus he expects a max contract. Talent aside do you really expact Cousins to be a core piece to a championship? In cases like these people always bring up guys like Rasheed, JR Smith, ZBo etc. but in all these cases the player "matured" after so many years already, during his prime years these guys remained pain in the asses while they were still making top dollar and only cleaned up their act after they got a "headcase discount" on their deal.

Also in this day and age you don't want to pay max for a center, you can get guys like Tarik Black to be a goon and do six hard fouls before the 4rth quarter and at the end Cousins will either be injured or exhausted. Of course MDA favors highly skilled players so he probably won't resort to this but other coaches get enforcers specifically to counter franchise centers. All you have to is look at Dwigjt and see how he moves like an old man at age 31 to see how much contact he received from no names over the years.

With his mpg and inability to score on ISOs there is no way Capela will get a max contract, he will probably get a deal similar to Noel which is around 15M per. That is a very reasonable deal for Capela.

Even Noel looks better than Embiid at this point. Who cares if he is amazing, Embiid can't play every other game and even if you limit his usage there is still a ridiculous risk he will break his leg while getting out of bed in the morning. Dude has virtually zero chance of having a long career and would be lucky to have 5 healthy years in the league.

Yeah, honestly Capela is not the problem. He can't create for others at all but has a clear and productive role in the offense and has been getting better every year. He's even driving to the hoop and getting post moves off of offensive rebounds with confidence. His free throws don't seem to be a liability anymore either. Two years ago he was such a limited player, but now he seems like someone we can rely on. The only question is whether he can be productive versus Golden State's death lineup, but that's a problem for 99% of NBA centers. Let's cross that bridge when we get there.

If we can re-sign Capela to a reasonable deal, which seems like a real possibility with centers no longer being hot commodities, we could be set at the position for years. I'd love to upgrade on talent, but there aren't too many centers better than him at this point. The real problem is Anderson and the slow decline of Ariza. If we could've traded Ryno for Melo it would have been so huge.

Really proud of Clint. Last year he would have been dominated by player like Embiid.

I love all the jump hooks and left handed layups he has developed. I sort of wish we would throw the ball down to him a little bit more.
