How did I know this bump was coming haha. No I don't think differently. You can't drastically change the lineup at this point. You have to have faith in George. He has had a fantastic year!

Moving one guy down isnt drastic. Was moving Bregman, Reddick or Marwin down at different points drastic? How is Springer the sacred cow here?

    Just switch Springer with Bregman

    Bregman
    Springer
    Altuve
    Correa
    Gurriel
    McCann
    Gonzalez
    Reddick
    Pitcher

But we already know it won't happen and that Springer can get out of his funk with one swing. Let's hope tonight goes better.

The difference is they have been moving reddick, marwin and breggy around all year, so it is not out of the norm. Moving springer down would reek of desperation, and would be drastic, since he has been there all year. In that sense he is a sacred cow.

Reddick was moved down against lefties. Bregman was moved down against righties. Marwin was also moved down against lefties. Beltran went from only starting vs righties to not starting at all. Gattis will now DH against both lefties/righties but will not usurp McCann at C in the NL ballparks.

None of this is that complicated. Moving Springer, and installing a completely new leadoff guy at this point is a bit moreso.

So, if we had moved Springer down earlier in the season, you would be in favor of it now?

Why? He is still getting the brunt of at bats during a game. If he is going to be moved down due to a slump, wouldn't you want to move him down to the lower third?

no. I was never in favor of it. I'm just saying you can't compare it to moving those other guys around IMO.

OK. But if we had, your current logic/reasoning falls apart.

not only is Springer in a slump, but he's not even making good contact with the ball. he's just going up there wildly swinging at balls and striking out. He needs to stop swinging for the fences and just focus on hitting the ball solid. i wouldn't mind moving him down but at this point, doubt Hinch will so hopefully he stops swinging for the fences and make solid contact with the ball

Yes, and I want my best possible batters batting as much as possible. Batting Springer 2nd vs 1st doesn't really change all that much... so what would you then be accomplishing?

People here were clamoring for Derek Fisher to get starts against the Yankees.... I'm sure his name will come up again at some point, along with Maybin.

I agree, not much. Move him to 7 or 8th.

I don't think bob is in favor of moving springer to the lower third lol.

At that point, why not just start Maybin over him?

    AMIRITE?
