My dad tends towards hyperbole, but I actually kind of agree with his assertion that the Dodgers "look like a bunch of pansies." We're losing, but they're not doing incredible things. Keuchel made a couple mistakes and paid for them, but other than that, he pitched a remarkably efficient game, even giving up about a hit an inning. When you get a lot of ground balls, you get a lot of double plays to clean things up. The Dodgers did not take him to task for putting people on except one time on what I think was just a clear miss on a pitch.

Furthermore, I was not as blown away by Kershaw as the legend and awards made me think I would be. He clearly has great control, but our guys also took and swung at exactly all the wrong pitches. Kershaw had 11 Ks, but the Astros helped him immensely with that. And Bregman did indeed make him pay for a mistake. If Justin Verlander gets 11 Ks, it will be because HE made it happen without any batter help.

My point is that, despite the likelihood of us losing this game, if the Astros get their heads on straight, I think they can take this series. At their best, they're probably a much more powerful team than the Dodgers from what I'm seeing.

If Beltran were to retire tonight, can we replace him on the roster?

And no one wants to see a ****** wait around in the dugout all game until his spot in the lineup comes up. There's basically no strategy in AL ball.

I didn’t get a sense of urgency or energy from the Astros tonight, which is fine, but hope it shows up in 9th or tomorrow in the box score so we can get back into this thing.

The bench isn’t big enough to sit 3veryone who deserves a sit right now.

    The outfield deserves a seat.

There’s no way in holy hell springer leads off tomorrow. Where is fisher for Marwin? Maybin for Reddick?

Agree that the NL format significantly favors the smarter coaches and general managers who put the roster together.

This does NOT have the same feel as 2005. I honestly thought the White Sox were the better team but prayed we could take them. I do not feel this way this year. I am fully confident we can take these guys.

Nothing in this game scared me, that's for sure.

DK made two mistakes and the Dodgers managed to cap on them. It's a series thankfully, the Dodgers win one home game? So what?

We don't have Joe Morgan sitting on the bench. We've got a bunch of Joe Dirts, at best.

Past performance says he's proven "not being capable of shutting down" any lineup, much less an All-Timer. Offense underachieved tonight.

But again, tonight is the first time most have seen him. They'd better do better next time or they somewhat choked.

Doubt we come back tonight but if Verlander pitches like he has again I like our chances tomorrow.

Must split these first two. MUST.
