Are the umps really fooled or have they been getting kick backs from Magic Johnson and his investor group?

Or the umps may be pushing the bigger market team with the expanding strike zone??

If umps are calling a big zone for Dodgers, Astros are going to have to swing at pitches that are hard to hit much less drive.

    If we're being literal, it's not even Al-too-vay. It's Ho-seh Al-too-veh.

    Same with Carlos Coh-reh-ah.

You know, Correa is really the one who needs to be on there- and then give it to Smoltz, who has called him Correra like several times now. Ugh.

Reddick will probably bat 8th since Keuchel will be hitting 9th tonight. Just hoping some of the struggling bats wake up tonight in LA

Interesting stat just mentioned on MLB Network. The winner of gm 1 has won 25 of the past 29 WS.

They should put Reddick 9th just to piss him off so badly that he transforms into a .500 hitter and wins the MVP of the WS.

    it's called "framing a pitch".

Grandal has been a master at it, not so much Barnes. Barnes will be doing the bulk of the catching for LAD

btw, every MLB catcher frames pitches---including McCann and Sanchez---they're just not as good as Grandal.

Ever since the Tigers-Cardinals WS, I threw predicting the series out the window. That was the worst team I've seen win a WS- yeah, they won 100 games like 2 years before, but they were crap that year. The running joke was the prediction, "Tigers in 3."

I mean, the Cards started Anthony Reyes in Game 1- who had like a 6-something ERA. And then Jeff Weaver. And they won the series 4-1. Made no sense.

And then the WS where the Giants, who were one of the worst hitting teams that year, exploded in the WS (I think it was when they played the Rangers).

Saw the lineup for today. Took me a second to figure out who the DH was. Dammit.

    Springer CF
    Bregman 3B
    Altuve 2B
    Correa SS
    Gurriel 1B
    McCann C
    Gonzalez LF
    Reddick RF
    Keuchel P

    *Baseball noob question*

Why do we not have a DH this go around? What is the advantages of having Keuchel bat in the line up?

The NL doesn't use a DH, and games played in NL stadiums use NL rules.

Their catchers may be better, or not, but that's McCann's bread-and-butter: working as a receiver with the pitchers.

And btw: the umps know what is happening with the glove.
