By the way, did the Rangers congratulate the Astros on winning the AL championship?

I think Dallas is difficult to hit no matter what. I think it will be even more difficult since most of the Dodgers haven't faced him. That being said, the Dodgers will be super patient waiting for strikes. They have been all year and into the playoffs. It might be a good chance for Keuchel to throw a first-pitch strike and get ahead in the count.

Kershaw is also tough. I know the Astros will have done their research and see that most of his runs are given up against homers. Hopefully, that doesn't mean they will just swing for the fences every swing of every at-bat. If they can stay disciplined at the plate they will have a good chance. It's hot as hell here in Los Angeles already at this time in the morning. I don't think the heat will favor one team or the other.

    Let's go Astros.

Cuzzi historically has a generous strike zone, so there's that.

Yes, that could help Dallas a lot. Also, as long as it's not two separate strike zones like it was in some of the Yankee games, that will help us as well.

At least the game isn't in Chicago and freezing cold. That(along with Oswalt being needed in Game 6 of the NLCS after Lidge blew Game 5) derailed the Stros in the 2005 World Series and they never really had a chance against the White Sox.

Gametime weather at Chavez Ravine is around 87 with 20% humidity and a slight breeze. It'll be a bit hotter on the field but it doesn't look too bad...not like, say, Arlington in July.

Keuchel is left handed so that means he walks backwards when getting on and off planes.

This series will come down to whether Devenski/Harris/Giles can come through.

I'm going to MMP tonight. The Astros want to buy me dinner and sell me seasons. 1st time to go to a watch party. We will see how it goes.

We were incredibly fortunate with two 1-run wins to start the series against the Yankees. We can't count on something like that against the Dodgers. They're a whole different beast.

@Clutch can we change this thread title to "OFFICIAL", it is the World Series after all and the "unofficial" takes away some of the nostalgia to be.

The Red Sox and Yankee threads were 'unofficial'

NO team can win the World Series without a bullpen. We really need our middle relievers to step UP.
