I actually agree.

Sac has potential this year. They are pretty decent defensively.

If Fox can give them 10-15 points a night they will be tough.

That was not a very impressive showing, at least we escaped with a win. We were clearly not engaged especially offensively. Looked like we treated it as a scrimmage or something. That last few minutes especially was embarrassing. We should have crushed this team.

Glad we got the win but need to improve in a lot of areas still.

 

The only thing I agree is the Rox are well on their way to a 60 win season or more. It seems that way barring misfortunes.

 

I don't see it as being a knee jerk. They play good defense(defensive minded coach). They shoot the three well and have good scoring off the bench.

I bet they win close to 40 games this year.

 

the Kings will be in the low 30’s in wins at best...y’all are taking way too much from 1 game

 

i do. they go from winning 30 games and thats with the cousins departure to being a playoff team just like that, no thats not happening. sounds like all the lakers kneejerk reactions when they beat GS last year at the beginning of the year. oh lakers are a playoff team, potential etc. yeah ends up with 26 wins

Tough to suit up and play hard against a Kings team after experiencing what they experienced the night before. The GSW was a playoff type game - even as the first game of the season.

I expect us to come out blazing against the Mavs.

Fox is going to be a better Rajon Rondo. Pulling for him because of his Houston ties. They interviewed his mom at a trailer park in Katy when he was at Kentucky.

His game speed is nuts and he has it in for the family that shall not be named.

 

I just watched the highlights. Man Haven't seen that many hook shots in the paint since d-mo was on the team. I'm talking about the Kings taking the hook shots though. That shot was so unstoppable back in the day and it set up so many other shots.

 

It’s one of the things Capela should really develop.

 

I'll reiterate what @roslolian said, in bullet format that you like:

• We only win games due to FT shooting because we drive to the rim and oop, not from creating a mid-range game system.
• Those high-FT games are often inversely-proportional to how much the opponents game-plan to stick to the 3pt shooters....see the OKC series where we shattered our FT average...shooting 35/gm...because they stuck to the shooters
• That's why mid-range shots are the worst in offensive efficiency, because the don't generate nearly as many FTs as drives/oops.
• To open space to drive for those FTs, we shoot 3s.

Are we saying never run plays for Paul/Harden/EGo to shoot mid-range ... no. Just never for Nene, Ryno, Ariza, Bev, Capela, etc.

Most encouraging part of this first two games has been Harden's lack of turnovers. Only five total, if he can keep those down this team will be extremely hard to beat.

 

Looking forward to Eric Gordon 3 ball getting back on track on Saturday.

 

All fair points, but somehow people think I claim to want a strategy based on more mid-range shots. That's not it, though for a guy like CP3 and Harden it would be nice to have some plays though they can just take them naturally! It's more about when they drive inside EXACTLY BECAUSE the opponent stick to our shooters and they are open to take the shot they don't...they continue to go further inside where it's crowded to kick it out to 3pt shooters or go back out behind the 3pt line.

 

They looked good cause our defense sucks.
