They could be lights out, but they haven't been since the playoffs started.

So basically, in your mind, unless the offense is getting hits every inning and always getting clutch hits, the offense is struggling? Would the offense have been better in Game 2 if they scored 8 runs but got fewer hits and didn't leave anyone on base?

If we eliminate every pitcher who has failed in the playoffs, we are going to have to have position players pitch soon :)

Leaving far too many runners in scoring position is one sign of a struggling offense, yes.

Not having any runners in scoring position in the first place, even more so.

No base runners is worse. They only left 3 Base Runners last game. They scored 4 runs on 3 hits.

    Yeah don't remind me lol

I give them credit, their pitching has been great, but we also seem to not be hitting like we have been used to. Taking pitches down the pipe etc. Also yesterdays game was more of a product of Hinch panicking and pulling Lance to early in my opinion.

I agree with that, but I just hope it's not in our head and we can come out today and just start doing what we all know we are capable of doing. It's just scary to see us look flustered and down almost while they are getting hyped up etc. If this was a 2-2-1-1-1 series I would be a bit more confident becuase we can break the routine and being in their home. But we don't get that luxury so we need to dig deep and figure something out.

I think it’s crazy to say we couldn’t win 2 home games in a row against any team. It wouldn’t even be a surprising accomplishment to take 6 and 7 if necessary.

Today’s game is important because we’re unleashing one of our big weapons, but it isn’t a must win. Sure would be nice though.

Do not like Beltran in the lineup. I have no confidence he will do anything to help us win today.

I hope I can come back to this post and call myself out for being wrong after the game, but i doubt it.

I'm not sure if anyone has heard but we're winning today. 7-2, the good guys.

Today is a YUGE game with YUGE ramifications but I agree.

Only elimination games are technically “must win”

It would not be a shocker to win game 6 with verlander then see our offense wake up big time in front of the home crowd in a game 7 that i assume peacock would start

No, it's not. There have been Best of 7 series where the home team won every game. The Astros were part of one in the 2004 NLCS. You couldn't have asked for more momentum after taking 3 straight at MMP especially with Kent hitting that walkoff 3-run bomb in Game 5. Yet the Cardinals won the next 2 in St. Louis to advance to their asswhooping at the hands of the Red Sox.

Now that being said, it sure would help to win today given that Keuchel is on the mound. If the Astros lose this game, that not only puts a ton of pressure on Verlander in Game 6(which would then literally be a must win), but it also leaves a tough Game 7 where they'd have to win with a patchwork of pitchers.

We win this game if we have a normal MLB strike zone... and not the "we feel sorry for Judge being so tall" strike zone.

He isn't the only one. You take out Jose and Carlos and the team is 9 for 89 this series. FOUR GAMES and only 9 hits for everyone not names Altuve and Correa. Hell pull Yuli out of that and the team minus those three players is batting .079 Also only one home run. ONE for the entire series. That is not going to cut it. Frankly we are lucky to be tied 2-2. Our hitters are barely putting up numbers that usually pitchers in the NL hit. We are doing as well as batting 9 BARTOLO COLON'S. Irritating.

IMO, if they want to go to the WS it's a must win. I like winning 1 of 2 at home rather than coming home down 3-2 and needing both games at mmp.

Who wouldn't prefer only having to win 1 of 2 at home? But it's not a must win. Verlander on the mound at home in Game 6 is a pretty good firewall. And if the Astros win that one, then anything can happen(good or bad) in a Game 7. Don't tell me the Yankees wouldn't be nervous as hell themselves.
