Their answer is obvious, so let them clamor all they want.

We may not win the World Series by using our pen, but not using it 100% guarantees we won't. If we're going to win, the bullpen is going to have to play and play well.

I understand the game of baseball, but we have had 4 games to get our bats going and they haven't. Sometimes they look completely lost at the plate with the exception of a few people.

At least we still have a few. In the past when Bagwell and Biggio were cold we didn't have any

So Keuchel has to pitch a complete game shutout, doesn't he?

Him and Peacock. Granted, I've been wrong about a lot concerning Astros pitchers the past two days.

No, but he has to give them 7 innings of 1 or 2 run pitching. And then the bullpen has to shut out the Yankees in the final 2 innings.

No credit to the other side?

If the roles were reversed... would we be saying how surprised we were that the Yankees weren't hitting?

I'm hesitant to give too much credit since the offensive woes started in the Red Sox series. They've just gotten exponentially worse vs the Yankees.

Other than the 2 games of 8 runs?

We know all teams have their own scouting reports generated... the Yankees have now virtually shut down both the Astros as well as the Indians offense over the last 7 games. Sure, at some point, the Astros will start hitting (or the Yankees pitching will start faltering)... just pointing out that its usually a 2-way street when it comes to these things.

When they did they start in the Red Sox series? In Game 4, we scored 5 runs on 12 hits (plus 4 walks), including beating two of the best pitchers in baseball in Sale and Kimbrel. We also had 13 hits in game 3.

Baseball trends can last a lot longer than 4 games. But its also true they can shift/change in the middle of an inning.

The very same guys who failed us yesterday could be lights out the next time. You have to go back to them.

I suspect, barring an early disaster, this is a Keuchel/Peacock game if at at all possible. Giles is the only other reliever I could see being used barring bad circumstances - Keuchel/Peacock getting blown up, extra innings, etc.

I would actually considering using McHugh as well for an inning or two. You could definitely tell he wasn't too fazed out there in Game 3 I guess because we were getting blown out but he pitched really well. Probably won't use him today since he threw 53 pitches on Monday but I think it should be an option. Still don't think they should shy away from some of the bullpen arms that helped all year but it is tough when confidence is so low right now. Would also be fairly comfortable with Gregerson.

Keuchel beat the yanks in their home 2 years ago in the one game take all wildcard...so at least we know he has it in him under pressure...just need to have his stuff going and our bats needs to hit and hit a lot today.

Get Reddick out of the lineup. Ever since he desecrated old glory with his b-hole the big man upstairs has frozen his bat.

The lack of hits weren't necessarily a problem. But the Astros left a ton of runners on base even in Game 2 when they scored 8. Game 3, the offense couldn't get anything going after scoring early, but that was mostly due to not being able to get a hit off of Price(which is understandable, BTW). Game 4, the offense was horrendous until late in the game when the Red Sox left Sale in one inning too long.

Like I said, it's gotten much worse vs the Yankees, but let's not act like there weren't signs of guys struggling to get timely hits in the ALDS. The problem now is they're struggling to get ANY hits.
