Why don't we just give it up. The Astros have. a la 3 hits today. On the Radio they said they are not concerned and in a good mood.
I am an Astros fan but when New York wins the series I will cheer for them in the World Series. No matter what what you think of Aaron Judge as a player, he is really a great guy with things he does with kids.

McCullers had given up 2 hits through 7 . He was dealing . A little home run is no reason to pull a guy with a low pitch count .

<-- Look at that picture. We have three games and our two best pitchers left. Until the final out results in a long-awaited World Series title or cruelly ends our chances this season, there is no reason to give up.

Got home from work and just watched the game delayed. I already know what a lot of the hot takes will be, so I'm not going to read through everything. Will just give my opinion and then go sulk.

-Before today, I was already confused about the extra pressure people were putting on this game. Even if we were to lose, I still thought (and now think) it's relatively ok. These are the 2 hottest teams in the AL. Plenty of teams go 6 or 7 games in the LCS and win the WS. Winning at home and losing on the road is still "ok" on the whole. Especially with Keuchel and Verlander still to come.

-Giles had a rough game. I'm still fine with him as the closer. But I'd like for him to get back to 1 or 1.1 innings...a full 2 just seems like it's a lot.

-Would have preferred to see Peacock come in behind LMJ given that he was available.

-Totally fine with pulling LMJ. We were hoping for 3 innings and got 80+ pitches of great ball.

-That Hinch should be fired thread is crazy, imo.

-Still think we win this thing in 6 or 7. Worried? Yes. But I was worried from the start, and even when up 2-0. "Series doesn't start until someone wins on the road", or however that quote goes.

"low pitch count". His pitch counts since coming off the DL: 76, 63, 83, 49 (relief vs BOS), 81 (tonight)

He hasn't pitched above 83 since the game before the DL on July 30th. That's a long time.

edit: it was more than "a little home run". I think he had walked the leadoff man in each of the last 2 innings, followed by a leadoff HR, if I'm remembering right. He was slowly losing command, even though the hits hadn't quite showed up yet. That along with the pitch count against his previous workload makes it seem like an obvious pull to me, esp with a 4 run lead.

Could be worse; you could be the cubs and give up a 4 pitch walk to darvish with the bases loaded

I just don’t get it. We beat Chris Sale twice as well as Kimbrel. Yet we are making pitchers like matresscheeto twomopups and cc’s pizzabathia look like current Cy young candidates. We need to come out in the first three innings tomorrow and hang 4 or 5 on “tana na gonna Work here anymore”. We f*** around tomorrow and we run a real risk of watching this historic team start it’s vacation.

This is my only post today and the last post I will make in this thread. I won't go through all the disappointment and frustration- already enough of that.

But I have a bit of a different perspective on this. I actually enjoyed watching the games during the regular season vs. the playoffs. It doesn't mean that you don't care if the team wins or loses- you do. But the level of care allows you to have reasonably enjoyed the experience.

I'm not sure that's the case with a playoff run. It's a bit sadomasochistic, in a way. Super highs, and super lows. Maybe, in my early days, I thrived on those type of rollercoaster emotions. It's not as appealing to me lately. Is the potential joy of winning it all worth the extreme lows you experience when your team fails? I used to think it was. Not so sure anymore.

Doesn't mean I won't celebrate like everyone else when some Houston team wins it all. But when you feel like destroying your TV, when you start thinking a person like Ken Giles is a worthless POS because he failed in a particular game, when you have trouble sleeping b/c you're so upset, I'm convinced that following sports that way is not good for one's physical and mental health.

As I mentioned in other threads, I attended over 20 games this year at Minute Maid Park. I got to know other fans who go to every single game, and vendor at the St. Arnold concession area, and even the guy who lives in front of Minute Maid Park (near the entrance close to section 134). You know, it's been a blast, much more fun than I thought I would have. Maybe that's why, even though I was originally angry about the sudden turn of events in the series, I thought about it a lot and changed my view. Happy if they advance, OK if this year is not the year. Winning really isn't everything.

    See ya all next week.

Dude, that's baseball. Every game is different and momentum is quite fleeting. I mean, this team got swept by the Oakland As in September, and then reeled off a nice finish to the regular season. But Tanaka in that park against this lineup is not a good matchup for NYY. I don't care how well he did last time out. I seem to remember many well hit balls in that game by Astro hitters that didn't lead to a positive result. I think our offense will get it together and give DK plenty of run support.

As I told my dad after we went up 2-0, remember Cardinals-Astros '04. Winning at home in the LCS is expected. Frustrating that Our bullpen is so bad and that our lineup has gone quiet, but playing on the road just exacerbates the issues.

Hoping we go Keuchel-McHugh-Verlander. Especially if we can manage a win tonight, I want to save JV for potential G7.

It couldn't be worse. Cubs won last year.

Chicago wins plenty more than HOU.

Easily 10x the better sports city.

I feel bad for the starters. They have pitched really well for our team. There are some things I would have done differently but I don't want to dwell on those because it would be too easy to turn negative at a time like this.

We play again today, and I like that. I love these Astros. No need to turn sour right now. We've got a game today! Let's go Astros

    Our bullpen blow it!!!

We really should have gotten a top closer before the trade deadline. I posted this here in the summer.
