Sabathia has been an underwhelming starter for 5 years now. Not bad, just consistently mediocre.

We've haven't done much for 4 games, if we don't put up some runs on him I will be pretty disappointed.

Yankee fans probably think the same about Morton

Except they would be wrong. Morton is one of the toughest starting pitchers in baseball for 4 innings (BA against is 0.192, OPS of 0.601, and wOBA of 0.270). He may not have the endurance as he typically loses command sometime in the 5th or 6th inning, but as long as Hinch doesn't treat Morton like Verlander, it won't matter.

The Yankees bullpen, in tandem with Severino means we had to deal with some absolute filth in game 2. Tanaka when he is on is really tough as well. We've faced some really good pitching.

Opposing pitchers must have really game-planned our guys after we shellacked the Red Sox in the first two games.

Funny how my dad, who is 152% Iowan, has and will always be a Yankees fan. Cubs, no. Twins? No. White Sox? No. Yankees, yes.

Me, as a kid: "Dad, why the Yankees?"

    "Because of Mickey Mantle."

    "What about him?"

    "He's a hero."

(me, naïve) "Why is he a hero?"

    (blinking incredulously) "He's a hero."

    (me) "OK......"

Morton got through 5 innings in every start this season, I didn't realize that.

He's completely dominant for 2 innings, good but hittable the next 2, and a disaster in the 5th.

2-0 with timely hitting and great pitching. Will the bats come alive?

I'm gonna say something that I can't believe I'm gonna say because my family is old ass Irish superstitious....

but other than the 1994 Rockets and the 1995 group after they beat the Suns...I have never had this much confidence in a team from Houston....other than one time that ended so disastrously that it should never be spoken of again and involved a football team that doesn't play here anymore.

(still terrified of Kenneth Giles, though)

Astros - 24 hits in games 1 and 2 against Boston
Astros - 25 hits in games 3 and 4 against Boston (albeit in two more innings)

That said, Sabathia is 9-0 in 12 starts for the Yankees after a loss.

I think tonight is a huge (they all are) game. Astros win and it probably puts bigtime doubt in theYankees minds. It would be obviously be incredibly difficult for the Yankees to come back from 3-0.

If we go up 3-0, that’s the series. I do not doubt there will be another team that comes back from a 3-0 deficit. But it would not be this Yankees team.

I understand. I won't say anything that could jinx us. I will only say that I know that game, along with college basketball, along with series against the Mets and Phillies. I have been working hard to not be conditioned into expecting the worse.

I don't know what will happen with this team, but I am excited.

Castro is just another low IQ player that thinks throwing the ball closer to the plate to the guy with the stronger and more accurate arm is a good play.

Great view of the play. And how about Correas helmet toss reaching the rafters. Quite a throw.
