Gary Sanchez is the worst defensive catcher in MLB.

Thinking about it while sending Altuve home was very risky it's not that band of a gamble. Judge is young and not surprising doesn't have the experience or complete confidence to try to go all the way home. Sanchez is also young and a not a very good fielding catcher. Those improve the odds that a very fast and very skilled Altuve can make it.

I just don't see how you can place any blame on Judge there. It was a poor throw home combined with a bounce throw not caught by the catcher. Judge's momentum was taking him one way...he stops...and he launches it to second. Isn't that what most everyone would do in that situation? There was plenty of time to make that defensive play. It was just botched on the execution.

I heard the post game interview with Girardi and he said he didn't want to take a chance.

That would've been like a 350 foot throw for judge, considering how fast he got it out, the timing of the turn and all....the only person who did anything wrong was the 3rd base coach. And the catcher I suppose.

Judge physically could make the throw. The question is how confidant is he that he would've been on target. I think he took the safe play to throw to second.

I never saw it on replay. Did Pettis wave him in or did Altuve go rogue?

Pettis waved him, but if he didn't...Altuve was probably going.

Bc you don't throw the ball to 2nd. That's just low iq. You wouldn't see any of the hou fielders do that But he's dumb and made a rook mistake so too bad for them. Great for hou

It should understood any run Scored is end game
