I was interested that they went with Morton for game 3 over Peacock. I wonder if they're thinking Peacock to the pen, and McHugh for game 4?

If we can get 7 out of Verlander, I'd be good bringing in Peacock to see if he can get 6 outs.

I think is clear they want Peacock available in the pen if they have to go to it early. I think if he isn't needed in games 2 or 3, then he'll be the game 4 starter.

I would expect to see Musgrove close, but I'm hoping that our bats wake up in a big way today, making it a non-factor.

Wow, love this. I have officially withdrawn Stroman from my Opposing Players I Love to Hate List.

Still on the list: Carlos Gomez, Josh Donaldson, Yasiel Puig, Carlos Zambrano (JK- I wonder what happened to that guy)

I agree that Morton or Peacock will be available in the pen. I just can't see a scenario where it's a 3 runs-or-less lead, and Hinch goes to someone that hasn't closed all season / pitched out of the pen in months. Even if Peacock pitches in the 7th or 8th, I think he'll go to Devo (or Giles, or Musgrove....or Luke....) in the 9th

So Peacock comes in the 7th with a 3 run lead strikes out 3, 3 weak grounders on a low pitch count with command and stuff both working....you pull him with a 3 run lead in 9th?

I see it unlikely Peacock pitches in the 9th, but weirder things have happened.

Chris Archer is a smart dude. I loved him in the booth during the Stros/Yanks WC game a couple of years ago and he's got a serious future if he wants it. He is infinitely better than any color guy I've heard so far this postseason.

This is what happens under the playoff spotlight. We all know how good he is- but now, he's getting a LOT of media attention and shout-outs. We can all just sit back, pop open our Peroni beers, and go, "yeah, we know."

I still think a lot of Houston fans do not understand the extent of his movement. That is completely absurd even for a two seam fastball. I am curious where he is holding that ball when he throws it.

Mmmmmm....high school, Fuzzy's on Chimney Rock, Moretti's and slices, watching the Stros.

Dude, you posted the gif 30 minutes ago. Look at where his ring finger is.

Sadly, Luke's existence on the roster makes his closing a possibility.

He didn't go unscathed many times this season with a narrow lead or tied game.

Ha, ok sure--I didn't plan for every possible scenario. If Peacock comes in in the 6th and throws 3 innings of 9 up, 9 down, 27 strikes, 0 balls, all K's...yes, I bet he stays in in that situation too.

Barring irrefutable dominance, I see Hinch going to Devo to close it down. (Note that I was talking about what I think Hinch will do, not what I would do.)

I'm surprised Beltran is back in the lineup. Would've gone Gattis personally.
