And playoff Springer has cut his strikeout rate in half believe it or not compared to last postseason, so while he may still free swing, he's improved from the last playoff in almost every statistical category. That's coming of age. And thats all I could ask of the guys. Learn. Almost everyone has, including the managers. You can really see it.

Later in the game, they flashed to Springer in the dug out. "I don't know what happened." still trying to explain in his cheery way was up with that near homer. It will go an Unsolved Mystery. Aliens.

With Giles going beast mode yesterday for 2 innings, that has to open the door for Lance or Peacock to finish the game today right? Whatever it takes.

hmm good question. Devo has been the finisher all season when not Giles. Have to think Hinch would prefer that to someone who hasn't done it at all.

I guess there is no Yankee television prime time bias, which is too bad, but interesting. And youd think.chicago would like day baseball and warmer temperatures. Maybe these things are just set in stone no matter who plays.

I'm only responding to you once b/c I'm not going to waste this thread time arguing back and forth. So, feel free to have the last word and we'll end it at that.

But you've been pretty much an uncalled-for, complete ass at times - and you should just be a man and admit it rather than trying to act like you haven't been this way. It's one thing to criticize players- I don't say one word when everyone on here, including myself, has done so.

You take it too far, and I'm sure you know it- or, maybe you don't, and if that's the case, I feel sorry for you.

I'm not waiting for any opportunity to slam you- but what you don't realize is that you make it extremely easy due to the high volume of uncalled-for posts you've made this year. And I'm not going to apologize for calling you out of that- just be a man and admit you were wrong, like I've done multiple times in the past, and it's forgotten about.

The funny thing is that, while you might think you're the one who's being real and some of us are ostriching it, in reality, YOU'RE the one who's unrealistic. It's not naive to give credit to a manager who led a team to 101 games. It's not naive to think that a pitcher like Dallas Keuchel is going to hit some rough spots, and that this doesn't make him a Cuckel. And it's not naive to think that Jake Marisnick is way, way better than your silly posts about him.

If all of this goes over your head, fine. I expect it to, anyway.

I'm not sure who you are responding to, but you should probably just ignore him, makes life much easier.

Luke Gregerson has more postseason saves than Ken Giles.

Any suggestion of Luke's closing should be ridiculed and mocked.

You're right- 99 times out of 100, I really don't care when people criticize players. In this instance, it warranted a response. And as I said, I'm done with responding to him (fiersdownbelow), so now I can be in a happy place.

Twice yesterday he came up with 2 outs and nobody on base. I think it is by design that he doesn't change his approach with 2 strikes in those situations.

Don't mind the start time, just get these wins.

    Stros have destroyed Severino in his 2 starts this season -- 10.57 ERA / 7.2 IP / 2.48 WHIP / .405 BA

Let's hope this continues and JV pitches well.

I'm less confident in the bullpen than entering the playoffs, but a few better appearances would do wonders.

Doubtful. More likely see Harris or Musgrove, IMO. Wouldn't totally shock me to see Giles back out there.
