ClutchFans Game Thread: Spurs @ Rockets 10/13/2017 (Preseason)

I'll assume CP3 is out tonight.

 

I hate the spurs. Its just the preseason but I still hope we look a lot better than them this game.

My roommates and coworkers (spurs fans) have been very nervous that we might be better than them since we got cp3

Is anyone going to the game tonight? I’ll be in the stands cleaning up my girl’s drool from seeing Eric Gordon ... idk what she sees in that hobbit

 

What channel will it be on? Root Sports? Uverse 1758?

It's my opinion that we were better than them last year, or probably better to say "exactly equal to".

The addition of Rudy Gay is kind of a wildcard that could improve them, but otherwise Gasol and Aldridge are a year older and slower. We had zero business losing to them in that series last year, especially with a hobbled Kawhi - the same way Houston had no business losing to Portland in 2014. But, we are Houston, and the playoffs make our basketball teams go full-r****d. Their consistency beat our volatility.

 

I know it's ps, but kick their ass.

 

Agree. They just closed games better. We won the first game of the year, then they stopped our 10-game win streak in Dec, when we choked away a 10pt lead late in the 4th, as they made a 11-0 run in 90 seconds...then Mills hits the game winning three against great defense.

Later in the year, Kawaii hits that game-winning 25' three fading to his left, off the dribble...sigh...then blocks Harden on the no-timeout transition response. Of course, Clutch did a thorough breakdown of David Lee fouling Harden on that layup, which allowed Kashi to catch-up for the block.

Both Game 2 and Game 3 were tight going into 4th Q, they had a 12-0 run to start the 4th with Harden resting for Game 2, then Harden tries to play the 4th with no rest in Game 3, which worked for half the quarter.

Then of course, Harden goes weird on us in the Game 5 OT, gifting away that chance.

 

Maybe it’s his nice stroke and the fact that he can hit from deep?
