Lol... the anti establishment bit is purely a one hit wonder. So far all they have proven is they are talkers... not doers. Just taking advantage of the weak willed who long for a time that isn't come back.
I'll believe it when I see it. These Republicans want that Mercer & Koch money to campaign more than anything. The only reason Corker and McCain have stood up to Trump is because they don't need the donor money anymore. Its pretty plain and simple to see. Maybe with Bannon creating a coalition with the Mercers to primary these Senators more will pull their public support for Trump, but until the money is either gone, or the money leaves Trump, I don't see any officials following Corkers lead. I do however.... see a very shocking interview/testimonial coming in the future from one of the Generals Mattis, Kelly, or McMaster when they predictably leave or get fired, that will be highly damaging to Trumps administration. Those are the 3 guys that are seen as the adults holding the White House together and have the most respect on both sides. If they sound the alarm on their way out, it will be pretty impactful.
I certainly hope so, but I'll believe it when I see it. The GOP members of Congress, with very, very few exceptions, are cowards.
Perhaps if it was the correct Republican. But Paul Ryan is the biggest push-over for Trump there is, and he's in the leadership position. If a real leader of the party would lead, then perhaps others would follow. I would love to be proven wrong, but I don't see Ryan having enough backbone to ever take a stand.
Couldn't think of another place to put this. Its news...not earth shattering, but very telling. Being a RINO in the age of Trump makes you an endangered species.
That's a shame. I was just about the mention the bravery of Jeff Flake as being the only Republican senator I know of that criticized Trump despite having to face re-election. I guess not. I wish he would stand again and see if his constituency would vote him out. It would be a bit of a litmus test on supporting Trump. I don't see any sense, if he opposes what Trump represents, to bow out and let some Trump-boosting populist walk into that spot. No one will remember or care about his sacrifice. He should go down swinging. But, I suppose campaign donors don't want to throw away money on a lost cause, so maybe he has no choice.
He's been voted out basically. That's why he's dropping out. He flat out said he can't win this year and doesn't see the need to waste time and money running when his primary base will not support him in the age of Trump. LOL though at Flake being a rino.
Oh good, the Senate can get even a little crazier. They were falling behind the House pretty rapidly, to say nothing of the White House.
Or having the guts to call out a complete idiot like Trump. This is more of an indictment on the pathetic joke in the White House than anything else. Bob Corker was spot-on, and he's no RINO. He's just someone who has the guts to call out that moron. If the Repubs weren't such pathetic cowards, they'd do the same.
I have nothing personal against Republicans. I may not agree with Pence, for example, but he'd be light years better than Trump b/c, at least with Pence, you'd be relieved knowing you have a sane, intelligent, mature person in a key decision-making role within the government. This has nothing to do with Trump's agenda, although I do disagree with certain things. This has everything to do with me being somewhat of a political purist and expecting that the President, and Congresspersons, are going to act with a certain level of dignity, intelligence, and compassion- none of which I see from the current President. It's just embarrassing- it's embarrassing having this person be the leader of a country that, believe it or not, I do care about. If he were a Democrat, I am telling you right now that I would criticize him just as equally. Find me a Democrat Congressperson who is as incompetent as him, and I will. I don't really give a **** anymore of his political party, or his agenda. He has done just what Corker said- he has debased the position of President, and our country deserves better.
It's not by you though, he's painted as a RINO now by talk radio as well. I meant he guy isn't a fake conservative. Basically he had a conscience about Trump so he's tarred and feathered.
