I hate it when we all fight, can the Astros please win today so we all can go back to loving each other?
If this game starts on time there is a likely chance of a lengthy rain delay. In that case both teams starting pitchers could get hosed. What will AJ do in that case.
http://www.intellicast.com/Local/Weather.aspx?location=USMA0046 The rain may not stop until 9:00pm once it starts.
Start Morton.... figure it out after that. I presume Verlander is available today, as Keuchel would be on full rest for a game 5 if needed. The only bullpen arms that may not be available today are LMJ and Devo (and obviously Peacock)... but as I said earlier, he took Devo out yesterday in order to try and limit his pitch count in case he would be needed for today. Harris, Musgrove, Giles, Gregerson should all be expected to go 2 innings at a time if needed. Off-day tomorrow. No rest for the weary.
I think Sandy Leon did a little ball flip when Marwin struck out. Marwin didn't appreciate it, so he said something. Price came in and told Marwin to sit down. Really much ado about nothing.
I'm almost positive it's considered "suspended" after it's official (i.e. 5 innings) and play picks up the next day at the moment play was stopped. As far as what happens if the game is called before it is official, I have no idea. Can anyone help with this?
This x1000. I think there should be a mandate that every new stadium that is built has, at a minimum, a retractable roof.
I agree. I understand old parks like fenway or wrigley field but it was ridiculous that the new braves stadium has no roof and it finished getting built this year! Lol
Gattis is at DH today...thank God. Springer Reddick Altuve Correa MarWIN Bregman Yuli Gattis McCann Morton
Why did Hinch mess with batting order and move Alex out of #2 spot? Team scores 8 runs in both games 1 and 2 and he screws with it. Only thing I can think of is wanting to have a lefty break up string of right handed hitters at top of lineup against RHP. Not sure that matters but you'd think you go with what's worked.
Reddick has done just fine in the #2 spot. He deserves more AB's than Bregman when facing RHP's. A couple more inches on his fly ball from being 6-0, and the Astros likely coast to a sweep. Bregman also had plenty of opportunity yesterday to deliver with men on base.... and failed to deliver. All-in-all, the offense sputtered despite plenty of opportunities. They haven't had many games like yesterday all year... which hopefully bodes well for future trends.
