Whose someone that decided to sit Harden down the stretch and created one of the most incredible comebacks in Rockets history that bought this team to the WCF?

    Interesting.

Either way this isn't a good look for Harden. He really should've just kept those comments to himself. Everybody with half a brain knows McHale is a clown. (Except @larsv8 :p)

And you are expecting something like this from someone who had a history of coming to the camp out of shape and also often like to blame his teammates after he got embarrassed by a wide open back door slam?

McHale tried to teach Harden how to be a champion and thats why he was here

I really wish Harden wouldn't have responded. McHale has the rings

Harden and McHale both look somewhere sub-champion in this exchange.

it doesn't matter that McHale had the rings, he just wasn't good at his job...he's a clown

Phil had rings too, but that didn't stop him from being a clown and being bad at his job in NY

How well did all those rings help Phil as President of the Knicks?

Did they magically allow him to do an amazing job?

Is it a "history" if it only consists of one training camp due to an ankle injury. Even in that off season he had a workout with members of the team willing to show up. Guess one of the players that didn't. He also took up boxing to work on conditioning before he got hurt.

Harden isn't perfect but imagine if we let him go instead of Dwight.

He came to camp 8 pounds heavy one season out of 6, and had an ankle injury.

He has also improved every single season in the league. He has set goals to improve part of his game each off season and he has done that.

How do you think that happened? Do you think it was magic? No, it happened because he worked his butt off in the off season.

I don't blame James for saying something in reply to McHale's remarks. I just wish he hadn't bothered.

And I have to ask again: "So what?" So if McHale is sore about getting fired? If it was that important to him then he should have done a better job of coaching the Rockets. As for his teammates supposedly laughing at Harden, I saw no indication this was some sort of issue on the court last season so what exactly was his (McHale's) point? But mostly, I find this whole thing to be much ado about nothing. So what if both McHale and Harden are feeling a little butt hurt with each other? It doesn't change the dynamics of the upcoming season one iota and that's the only thing that Harden and the rest of the Rockets should be focused on right now. Stupid words from stupid people are inconsequential as far as I'm concerned. Just because they are uttered doesn't deem them worthy of a response.

McHale is a bully, I think we should be supportive of James for standing up for himself in this case.

I like Harden with a chip on his shoulder.

I've never bought into the media hating Houston nonsense, but the country as a whole clearly doesn't like/respect Harden. It's like they think all of the winning and his numbers are illusions and in reality he isn't all that good. There has been a revolving door around Harden since he got here, yet we always field good/great teams, save for one disaster of a season where we merely won 41. Meanwhile guys like Anthony Davis can't even get over .500 but it's always somebody else's fault. Yet Harden consistently wins, without any co-stars, or with oft injured ones, yet he's selfish, a ballhog, plays no defense, cheats, and can't lead others.

I don't even think McHale's statements are untrue, Harden doesn't seem like a natural leader, and he has shown a propensity to fade when things are going poorly. But Harden is an elite basketball player, yet the country only begrudgingly gives him any respect. So f**k em, say what's on your mind. If I get sick of hearing all of the anti Harden crap, I can only imagine how much it bothers him.. I can deal with the legit criticism, but the constant undercurrent trying to downplay how good he is drives me crazy.

How is someone a bully who is paid to comment on things all NBA?....he happened to be paid by the Rox and sour grapes, that is all.

He should have said it when he was fired, not now.

And as for Kevin McHale, the man who sat there and left Terrence Jones in playoff games to get butt f**ked by Lamarcus Alridge, I don't ever want to hear a thing from him.

When Kanter was getting torched by Harden, the coach took him out of the damn game, that's what you do. You don't just stand there and watch it happen.

Easily the worst coach we've had since I started following the team.

I agree that McHale was being an ass making these remarks, and like I said, I don't blame James for replying. Had he chosen not to, however, we wouldn't have this 14 page thread, and counting. The season is on the cusp of beginning. The last thing i want to talk about is a former Celtic who drove me crazy when he played, and when he coached the Rockets, much less one of our two superstars continuing the "conversation" with the man.
