You mean like you were attempting to do. Because you didn't know means "none of us" knew? Oh, that's rich.
What are you talking about? Where was it reported that Mueller met with Steele before today? You said: Earlier this summer does not equal "six months." It took that amount of time for it to be reported.
The FBI interviewed Steele at the end of August. That much was known about before the most recent news. This is the what I posted earlier today:
I think it's kind of funny that part of this discussion has NOT been around how we do the same thing. You think we don't actively work to undermine Putin, wherever we get the chance? That we haven't worked, or are currently working, to undermine other governments, or sway their elections. We keep talking about this like it's something new, and that the only time it's ever been done was this one time.
Trump's fault, too? Good to know that at least one administration has felt it inappropriate to use Russian spyware (Kaspersky) as anti-virus software.
The people in here crying about how this investigation is much ado about nothing are almost certainly the same ones who ran around screaming "Benghazi!!!" And "Hillary's emails omg!!!!" for years. It's just selective outrage from the right centered around trying to create scandals for Democrats like Benghazi, Fast and Furious, birther BS, etc. while trying to downplay and ignore any and all shady activity from their side. Does anyone honestly believe that if Wikileaks had hacked and released RNC emails and then Hillary had won and it came out afterwards that multiple members of her campaign had secret meetings with a bunch of shady figures with ties to the Russian government (while lying about it every step of the way and refusing to ever criticize Russia or Putin), that Republicans wouldn't be completely outraged and be having investigations left and right? What about if Hillary had fired the FBI director and then given an interview saying that she did so because she was being investigated? What if it had also come out that she had multiple one on one meetings with the FBI director where she asked him to kill an investigation? If the shoe was on the other foot, the Republicans would be screaming bloody murder, and rightfully so for once.
Contractor uses software on his home computer means Obama used Russian spyware. What is wrong with you?
Please show me what current democratic governments we are actively engaged in undermining their elections. That isn't normal for espionage. Stealing state secrets, undermining leaders, especially when they are dictators is standard operating procedure. But what happened in the U.S. in 2016 is something new or at least something that hasn't happened in a very long time. The U.S. has even used the military to overthrow democratically elected governments in the past, but they didn't necessarily interfere in their elections. I researched and saw where they did probably successfully undermine the 1948 Italian election, but I haven't seen anything recently. Again what happened to the U.S. in 2016 is not standard for spy operations.
I would say you are the "I didn't vote for Trump" but I enthusiastically support him standard bearer but there are so many of you.
This thread gets bumped when there's not much other news. It's like the liberals' old standby in case they're out of other "outrages of the day".
Honestly, I couldn't give a damn about what Putin imagines we did, or didn't do in relation to his country's politics. All I have to do is examine his record while "in office." He has subverted his own election process. He has jailed and murdered those who had the guts to oppose him. Not oppose him by force, but simply telling truth to power, something we take for granted here. Putin's whining about America is the whining of a man who yearns for the "good old days" of the Soviet Union and their subjugation of Eastern Europe and the people, like those of Ukraine, who were a part of the USSR, and under Stalin, were subjected to brutal ethnic cleansing that killed countless people. One of Stalin's favorite tactics there? Starvation. So no, I don't give a damn about the current Russian dictatorship. We are truly a shining light for the world, regardless of the mistakes we've made as a country, in comparison. I ardently disagree with your point.
I'm in the "I didn't vote for Trump and I think the obsession with the unsubstantiated Russia narrative is distracting scrutiny from the actual damaging things that Trump is doing, that I'm alarmed at the Devil's bargain in the rehabilitation of the George W. Bush era of neo-con foreign policy at the hands of Democrats aligning with Neo-cons, and the new consensus from the political/media class that anyone that doesn't support hawkish, corporatist Democrats (that lost an easy election) is either 'unrealistic' or a closet white supremacist" group of posters.
Given the choice of hawkish, corporatist Democrats and hawkish, corporatist, ignorant, racist, mentally unstable buffoons intent on incredible damage to the country I'd side with the Democrats and I did. I've been consistent in my scrutiny of many damaging things that Trump and his clown show Presidency are doing and can still favor investigating the issue of collusion and Russian meddling and support whatever facts present themselves. What else ya got?
