I love our team, and I think it will take someone special to pry away our players, but Morey will not hesitate. (like DeNiro in Heat)

I truly hope Capela all of a sudden improves his offense in ways that we didn't see in his improvement last year...but at best, most of us are just thinking he'll get more lobs, with Paul/Harden being able to use that to force the defenses to leave our shooters more open this year.

Are you expecting a change in Capela's offense that DJ, Gobert and Whiteside will never have?

Here's how I view the discussion that Paul with create this DJ monster out of Capela.
    1. The issue is defense and rebounding and stamina
    2. Capela doesn't have a problem with offensive efficiency. Lobs are lobs, whether from Paul or Harden.
    3. Nene and Tariq will also be beneficiary of this, so Capela has to outlplay them to earn more minutes
    4. DJs big jump in 3rd yr with Paul was Defense and Rebounding and stamina. His offense never really changed...averaging just 6 shots a game.
Are you saying Paul helped with def, Rebounding and stamina. Or should we give credit mainly to DJ, himself, for that huge improvement.

His jump in defensive rebounding is at the time when Rivers comes.
Considering that most players don't improve considerably in rebounding ability over the course of their carreer but it's more depending on the style of offence in my opinion it is more attributed to Doc's style than DJ's improvement.

Rebounding is a skill, not a talent. It takes time to develop that skill as we have seen with DJ. It's not just about being big or long or athletic, its about knowing how to play the ball and anticipating where to go. This is something that Clint will certainly get better at with experience. His defense and stamina will remain a question mark, though I do think he brings more paint defense than Nene does.

wrong. The vast majority of players don't improve their rebounding ability or skill or whatever beyond their first 2-3 years in the league.
Also as I posted above DJ's jump in DR is more attributed to the style of offence when Doc got there.
Trade DJ to antother team with a different offence and the likely result is a drop or DR to his previous levels. (minus 2-3 DR)

I guess Harden's improved rebounding was just the system giving him free ones?

How about Dennis Rodman? He went from averaging 4 rebounds per game in his first season to averaging 18 plus in his prime.

Rodman has spoken out about his rebounding too, he claims that his ability to anticipate the ball as well as positioning himself correctly is why he was able to rebound the way he did.

Harden's and Westbrook uptick in dr are due to the change in the system.
Rodman is one of those exceptions. That's why I said most.
Everything has it's expections. Like most players don't improve much their dribbling but some like Derozan are the exception and do.
However, unless you are a Rodman like freak the improvement in your rebounding skill won't be much.
