Randolph should be on our radar. He is definitely skilled player and would add another playmaker with height.

His Euroleague 3P% is 33%, not great but not bad (Better than Josh Smith). I don't know anything about his defense though. I would guess he would come in with a chip on his shoulder. And the league has changed since he left, his skillset is better suited for this NBA.

It's a mystery to me, why he's not made an NBA impact. He's always been intriguing.

I still believe in Anthony Randolph, but I just don't see him coming to the NBA unless he has a defined role. That role is just not available with our stacked roster. D'Antoni has 4 PFs right now that he loves to go small with, and 3 Cs that are locked in. We simply have no playing time for him.

Randolph is Slovenian, should I know that? Couple of years too late.

I recall him being on the Warriors before FTW's time.

Four? I'm guessing your counting Zhou? That's fair.

I would go out and say that Randolph has more offensive skill and height than LMaM and PJ. I would really like to find something on his defensive ability. At 6'11, dribble drive passer that can shoot the 3 at a respectable percentage would be the last piece.

This dude sucks and doesn't even come close to deserving a spot on a good team.

The Rockets already discussed signing Randolph earlier this off season and had sincere interest in him.

The Spurs also have had some interest.

His game now fits the NBA better than in the past and he has improved his 3 point shot.

He wanted a multiple year deal with a promise of minutes.

When all of the Anthony stuff was happening, the Rockets were in touch with Randolph.

I doubt they bring him over at this point because the season is so close. However he is keenly on the NBA's radar and the "smart" teams have talked to him.

I posted about it a couple months ago. Looks like the Rockets (especially MDA) are happy to roll with what they have.

His motor has improved, and he defends inside.

Plus his 3 point skills have increased and he is an above average passer.

If he adds another couple ticks to his 3 point percentage, someone will give him a multi year guaranteed deal in the NBA.

His contract as it is structured now has a fairly easy buyout to join the NBA.

D'Antoni is going to play Ryno, Ariza, Moute and Tucker at the PF for stretches this year. Hell, he might even play Harden at the PF like he did last year. Even without those guys, D'Antoni is on record saying that Anthony Randolph is a Center, from back in his Knick days. I just don't see the space. Tucker and Moute have proven value to contending rosters. Anthony Randolph has done literally nothing to show he belongs in the league and there is no way that he beats out the salty vets that we have.

Really good info! Great to hear that the Rockets have interest. From a skillset point of view Randolph looks like a good fit as a 4/5 in today's NBA. How is is attitude? Seems like that was an issue that kept him down.

Randolph has more upside/ceiling than PJ/Moute but perhaps might not adjust as well to his "role" in the team structure as PJ/Moute will.

From what Nook says, role is key. Especially if "minutes" need to be promised. Multi-year deal also probably could be an issue depending on Morey's plans moving forward in terms of keeping cap flexibility.

Also, cc @basketballholic since I know you are a fan of Randolph's.

If his intelligence and understanding of the game has improved greatly, he can try again.

He is fairly young at age 28. Beasley made it back. Won't hold my breath.

He's better than any 5 on our roster, not even close.

Randolph represents where we are going at the 5 spot. Looking for that 7-footer that is fast, athletic, and can both finish and shoot. That's why Zhou is locked up for 4 years. We want to go seamlessly from PnR to PnP as the defense responds and as matchups dictate. He'd be a great fit here at the 5. Hope it happens.

Like Randolph more as a 4, not so crazy about him as a 5. Especially on this specific team.

I would like to see some defense and rebounding from him, instead of only a Beasley like impact.
