I'm starting this thread for those who want to keep @swyyyguy on ignore, yet want a Beverley thread, started by a true Bev fan...not a troll.

sue me, swyyyguy. But thanks for starting the Lin thread this year, so I can completely ignore that by putting you on ignore.

Bev giving love to his teammates as always

All the talk in LA is how Blake and DJ will take over the team.

Here's a quote that doesn't mention Teodosic, but rather Bev as key new addition.

“The roles absolutely changed out of necessity,” Griffin said. “Anytime you lose somebody like CP, everybody has to step up. I know DJ and I have talked about it all summer and we’re excited about that challenge.

“I think we have the majority of that load. But we also have some guys that are very talented and have a lot of experience. Lou (Williams) has been in the league for a long time now. Patrick (Beverley) played in big games, big moments. It’ll be collectively, but DJ and I will definitely have a bigger responsibility this year.”
    But we have this, too

“Everybody that can score catches up to a passer,” Rivers said. “There’s no coincidence that when Milos is on the floor, DJ turns into Usain Bolt and was running down the floor full speed, because he wants to give you the ball.”

Teodosic starts for this team within 2 months... Bev really had amazing moments here, but it is really hard to run an offense night in night out. Teodosic is gonna have a major impact for the team and help minimize the void left by CP3's departure.

That bev save to milos back to bev to dj oop was pretty.

That being said, I think the behind the back pass was unnecessary, and the raptors defensive rotations were horrid.

    Still, pretty

Bev is the same, even in a preseason game.

He was the best player in Europe (debatable) and they brought him over. Currently could be considered the best passer in the league, better than Rubio and has an offense game. Will be fun to watch.

Sadly his defense is non-existent and his offense, outside of passing, too incosistent. I still stand by my statement from the day he signed: after two years in league, he will not play much, even from the bench.

Watch Beverley freeze the defender with a look to DJ for the alley-oop, then float it off the glass for 2.

btw: here's the entire sequence leading up to Milos' underhanded pass to Bev.

First, Bev got a block after going UNDER the screen on a PnR.

This is the type of Elite PnR defense that made Chris Paul 1st team defense many years. He can fight over the pick and still track his man, plus go under and still contest the three. PnR defense is probably more important that lock down ISO defense in todays NBA, and Bev is great at both.

Nice series of four plays in a row of Beverley initiating the offense and getting others involved. Fairly pedestrian, but the team is active and he's decisive.
