I’ve been for the 2nd Amendment my whole life. Until last night.

No, that's simply not true at all and is only pointing out that you haven't been paying attention.

Talking about how enacting legislation that has already failed when enacted in the past or that would have had no effect whatsoever on this shooting is saying that it would be ineffective.....and then we have radicals calling for outright repealing parts of the bill of rights.

 

It's also an uncorrectable mistake due to the massive bonkers circulation of them in this country.

 

Plus it's called an Amendment. Amend means to allow for change. Otherwise we're just assuming everything in the Constitution is immutable to change. And if that was the case then slavery would still exist, there would never have been a Prohibition era, women wouldn't be allowed to vote and black men and non property owners would have their voting power reduced. If you don't think the 2nd Amendment can be changed, history says otherwise. Whether you agree that it should be changed is another matter. Clearly Bobby does not.

Like I said before, there's always the anti-civil liberties people who will look for any excuse to take from the people and those knuckle dragging idiots always need to be opposed.

 

Dude, they are the same gun. just a different stock. They both can be modified with a bumperstop. Any semi-automatic rifle can be modified to use a bumper stock, regardless if it has a wood finish stock or a 'menacing and scary" polymer finish.

The vast majority of the civil Western world doesn't have something equivalent to the second amendment and the vast majority of westerners from Canada to Europe have similar if not more civil liberties than us Americans.

Not true how? Please educate me. Are you saying that that by stating "2nd amendment have limits" is not being "anti civil liberty" or the 2nd amendment somehow does already restrict the weapons I previously mentioned and restricting those weapons is being "anti civil liberty"?

 

Pragmaticly, I just don't see how we remove the current 300 million weapons from circulation. It's a absurd amount.

 

No one argues that rights don't have their limits. It's a pretty settled principle of law. What I said was that wanting to abolish the 2nd amendment was "anti-civil liberties" and that's what started this entire tangent. The weapons you previously mentioned are currently restricted, and no one is arguing for them to stop being restricted....so that's really just a strawman on your part.

 

Nothing about any of your points is even remotely intelligent. Bottomline, events like this are a consequence of 2nd amendment freedom. I don't know how to fix it but higher gun violence is just something we will have to live with by keeping the right to bear arms.
