I think you meant voting between two president candidates, not electing two (unless you are referring to VP & POTUS). There is one extremely horrible candidate and one that isn't a good candidate, but not horrible. This thing about they both being the same horrible is just so false and against the face of reality to me. But I accept that I might be in the minority here and so by that definition, as a whole, ok - we probably are an idiot nation because we did allow an extremely horrible candidate to be POTUS and a large part of that blame go to people that didn't even show up to vote (~47% didn't). I hope this past year wake those 'my vote doesn't matter' up and encourages them to go vote next round.
I wanted Bernie to win, tbh. Didn't get my wish because the democratic party is too corrupt to even allow him a chance. So, my final vote was to not vote at all. Now, we get ogre for president. Yummy!
Bernie never had the vote to be nominee for the Dem party. It's not due to corruption (which were present), but simply the Dem party isn't ready for an extreme left candidate. I know he's attractive to many, but his ideals thought very popular, was not enough to make him a Dem candidate. BTW.. I see Bernie as an extreme left candidate that is, once you look just purely at policies, closer to the extreme right. The extreme ends are closer together than you think . And when you have an extreme left and right candidate, the center is going to lose. If the choice were between Bernie and Trump, I'm not sure who would win (there would be shift of votes both way). If the choice were between Bernie and a more moderate GOP candidate, I think Bernie would win in the 2016 election environment. It was a strange year.
If Turd Sandwich was president Republicans would be much happier because they wouldn't have to do anything but attack Turd Sandwich.
