Terrorism is the term used when there was some motive, generally political. Right now we don't know of a motive.

You can shoot that fast with a semi auto.

This video is with a standard trigger. If you had a binary trigger, you could go twice as fast.

Someone on CNN said that there were some illegal fully auto rifles among his stash.

You are very brave man to use CNN as a source to cite information. Even braver if you use Fox News.

I don't think the brother is helping the family much by appearing on camera at this time. I didn't like his antics even if this is how he reacts when he is in total shock. That is not the voice of reason I want to hear at this time...talking about asteroids falling out of the sky.

"NRS 202.4415 "Act of terrorism" defined.

    1. "Act of terrorism" means any act that involves the use or attempted use of sabotage, coercion or violence which is intended to:
    (a) Cause great bodily harm or death to the general population; or

    (b) Cause substantial destruction, contamination or impairment of:

    (1) Any building or infrastructure, communications, transportation, utilities or services; or

    (2) Any natural resource or the environment."

    This was terrorism.

"This is what happens when you change good people $10,000 a year to own full auto weapons. Only the bad guys get them"

Make full auto 100% legal and easy to own that way good guys can return fire in rapid succession.

"The gunman was down at the scene in the Mandalay Bay hotel, police said, apparently having taken his own life. Paddock was identified as the gunman in the shooting in a press release by authorities. Paddock is from Mesquite, Nevada. His motive is not yet clear, but police have said they don’t think the shooting was an act of terrorism, at least not at this point. "

Ah okay, he's just a single bad apple. It's okay everyone. It's just a white guy who needed help, not an illegal bad hombre, a thug or a terrorist.

Ive noted that that is the Nevada definition, so you could be right that this is Terrorism for Nevada.

Not to argue, but just noting that we should stick to applying that to Nevada, only, as most states don't agree.

So,for future acts, I wouldn't be quoting that in other states or federal situations, because many other states requires an Act of Terrorism to follow the Federal definition. They all seem to use the same language. Nevada appears rare in its vagueness and broadness.

Here's the federal definition that most states use.

Terrorism is defined in the Code of Federal Regulations as “the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives” (28 C.F.R. Section 0.85).

Furthermore, we should have checkpoints in every public space.

I hope the above space was sarcastic. I don't think having checkpoints in every public space is the way we want to go. We're already under surveillance constantly and we see how well and good people feel about the TSA checkpoints at airports. Are we really now going to say we want such things to get into a public park?

This was a horrific shooting and we have no idea what the motive was behind it. Making us more fearful and giving away more of our freedoms isn't a path we should go.

We can call Israel to implement, they've been checkpointing Palestinians on their own land for decades. They're experts, bigly.

I don't want to go D&D but the guy was shooting from the corner of a window on a 32nd floor, wouldn't have been able to effectively return fire. Also good people can go bad.
