After shots began I doubt that described many people. #sobrave though. My god. Satire is dead. What universe is this.
Because you can't defend your shitty views that are part of why the USA is leading modern countries in mass shootings. And if you can't see the difference between a deadly machine gun and a car that is produced for transportation, you are truly a magnificent idiot. But I see you won't actually debate this and can only resort to childish name-dropping, so have a nice day.
"Let's not politicize this" is typically codespeak for "I'd rather not have to talk about important or difficult things". Or worse yet, codespeak for "I'd rather not talk about a subject to which I am likely to lose the debate on." For righties it's guns. For lefties it's islamic terrorism.
If only the victims had high powered rifles to shoot back. They must've been pansy anti gun advocates.
You should know better. He thinks gun laws are ineffective because they aren't 100% preventative. That's how you know that the other person is incapable of rational thought.
You're right- we're all going to bring our political opinions. Maybe I should have said, "let's try our best not to get too nasty politically." I stand corrected.
This is the D&D so its expected this topic will get politicized. However some of you are being doushbags only try to troll and get a response out of others.
I have seen this talking point used already, un-ironically. I'm sure Jim Bob could've effectively returned fire to the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay in total darkness. #thoughtsandprayers
Illegal Mexican immigrant kills girl in San Francisco=write a new law! Crack down on mexicans! Build a wall! Muslims perpetrate mass shooting=Throw them out! End immigration! Obama is a Muslim! White guy shoots up country music concert=Please liberals, don't politicize this!
I saw Joe Satriani there in concert in 2005. That was the first time I'd been to Vegas. I stayed at the Motel 6 right across from the MGM. So, the first hotel and gambling establishment I ever visited was Mandalay Bay (the House of Blues is located there, right?) I hope to live until 100, but if I had no choice and I had to die due to some maniac shooting up a place, air-guitaring to Surfing the Alien would be my choice.
I guess I should preface thoughts and prayers to this tragedy. It's really an unforced error, but we're being desensitized to it like a hurricane or other natural disaster.
I think that's the best idea given that we know so little of the how and why involved.....but of course some of the knuckle draggers here won't be able to help themselves.
What we should all try to do is just discuss this rationally and calmly- and most importantly, pray for the victims and their loved ones (or wish them comfort if praying is not your thing). And be kind to one another. Like, pick the person you disagree with the most vehemently and commisserate with them, let them know that we care about each other as fellow human beings. For example: BobbyTheGreat: Thank you for your posts. While I disagree with some, I respect the effort.
Right, we should wait to politicize it until we know which side gets to be high and mighty and rain down "I told you so" on the other side. If he was a secret Muslim convert then you can be sure it will be politicized by the right. If he was just a nutjob who got guns and killed people it will be politicized by the left. But don't any worry and get to thinking something will change because of any of this.
Yes, that's what I mean. Let's try not to get too douchebaggery and all over this. Thank you, Space Ghost.
Sometimes, there is change. Hopefully, without sounding too kumbayaish, people can have less hate in their hearts and more empathy for those human beings whom they do not know personally.
Not on this issue. Do you want me to type up the script of the next few weeks before this is no longer sexy to talk about on cable news? I can write it all out. I can even tell you some of the guests who will be on CNN and Fox News.
The funny thing is that regardless of the motive, guns are still an accessory and huge enabler to these events. We need a new acceptable standard of civilian firearms.
