Beverley believed the system here in Houston held him back.

Sounds like he wanted more liberty and freedom to do more than the system allowed him to do. He talks about doin more stuff he's comfortable with like shooting off the dribble and even a step back and midrange jumpers. And he has Sam Cassell working on those with him and we all know Sam was one of the most crafties pg to ever play the game.

I wonder how he goin react to playing against us. He's down 30 lbs from his weight where he was with us . I don't know why he thought it was goin be beneficial to put on all that weight with us

"Houston didn’t like a lot of mid-range shots or step-back shots"

I believe this is also the reason why Ryno performed so poorly.

Sounds a lot like Kyrie when talking about why he wanted out of Cleveland. But Kyrie also believes the earth is flat.

That's what some of these clowns thought too. ;)

Chandler: Excited to get to Dallas. I know I have more in my game. I know I can do more. I can't wait for Rick Carlisle to unleash me & use me to my full advantage.

Dwight: Dwight is still searching for a coach to feature him. "No disrespect to what you do, but you've never played the game, [Howard told Morey]. I've been in this game a long time. I know what it takes to be effective."

???? I'm confused, I don't see anything in the quotes that would indicate he felt that the Rockets system "held him back"

    Title is misleading

He obviously thought he was capable of doing more than he was allowed to in Houston.

Everyone and their grandmother obviously think they can do better in their current situation.

However your quote does not indicate he said Houston held him back.

    Agreed.
Are you trying to start a revolt against Beverley? You know he's beloved on this board, right? He gave everything he had to the team while he was here despite our constant efforts to upgrade at his position. You won't find many here that will easily turn on him.

I love Pat Bev with all of my heart, but things are about to go very poorly for him if he starts taking mid range step backs.

That’s what I thought. He doesn’t have 30lbs to drop from last years weight.

I’m not sure how Beverley could be any more valuable than he was last year. His defense was clearly much better when Harden took over as pg and he was able to save some energy offensively. His vision/ball handling as a pg isnt great but I’m sure he’ll score more with a greater responsibility in LA.

He wouldn't be in the NBA without us.

I think he's an excellent defender, and a really good spot up shooter. A great rebounder, too.

Pretty much the ideal role playing guard you want. He plays bigger than his size, you can count on him, etc. But if he thinks he's some sort of star he's mistaken. He's like the Draymond Green with less overall talent guard version. He's a starter caliber player, but he's not a lead player.

But remember how you got here Bev.
