I'm not going to buy the kool-aide until I see it consistently out of this team. That said, I was always torn on PBev as a defensive leader of the team. It was always a personal vendetta with him. Which sometimes worked. But as we all know isn't what great NBA defense is about.
Not accurate. Go look up how much the other starters and EG average. Then go look up how much Tucker, Moute and Nene average. Then shut up.
Yeah. the rest of the team at least score 40 pts. Maybe on a night where rockets scores 160, those two can account for 75%
love that Harden will be playing more off the ball now and will get more spot up opportunities...he shot 38% on spot up threes last season and has always been good at it...those off the dribble, highly contested bricks from 3 that he kept taking would always annoy me
I don't like the fact he's playing with the ball that long. Just go past the guy. With Chris Paul here Harden can't be doing that. I want Harden either making a quick move or shooting it off a pass
Chris Paul isn't running in that lineup, so in that video Harden is the PG. Paul is leaning against the goal.
Yeah, but still it was more dribble dribble dribble, no off ball movement (at one point I think Clint flashed in the lane and that was it). That kind of stagnation gets them in trouble against the better defensive teams. Even though it's also perfectly ok for Harden to go one on one vs. a defender when he clearly has the advantage. Just have to wonder how MDA will add wrinkles to this... which is what he said he'd do this year.
Right, once the pick created the switch on defense Harden had the advantage. In most cases, we'd want him to beat the big man with speed but maybe he respects Qi's length enough to not take him to the rack. Either way, it's a 15 sec clip on the second day of camp where Harden could just be trying to get a rhythm going. Doubt any new wrinkles in the offense are going to show yet.
If you don't think harden is still gonna be harden you're delusional. He just needs to limit the amount of times he does this but it is going to happen. Just like kyrie, Westbrook, etc
Yeah, absolutely, we'll see what happens in the regular season. We just all know that the team has a tendency to stand around and wait for Harden to do his thing... and it seems like the less of that, the better.
The main reason they stand round is to keep their defenders anchored. That said, as MDA imparts more and more of his offense, I agree that I would like to see the rest of the players move around on the perimeter in cooperation with what Harden/CP3 is doing to maximize spacing and cutting opportunities.
I get it. I understand it's part of the "plan". Get the switch, go to your spots, let Harden do his thing, and know instinctively where everyone is, wait and see how the defense reacts. Because of the brilliance of Harden, this works a ton. But it bogs down against great defensive teams given who the other 4 guys are for the Rockets. The offense needs/requires wrinkles off of this play. It doesn't have to happen every time, but the Rockets need to show wrinkles. But it's training camp. And everyone loves seeing some "cooking", lol. I just wish DM was posting 15 second clips of beautiful player and ball movement that ended in a wide open Harden three. I'd get way more excited about that
Just saw Otis Thorpe at my golf course. Wanted to ask him about the Melo trade but didn't want to be that guy
