I'm judging results. Made playoffs with Brian Hoyer and Brock Osweiler at QB. He's a good coach. If you can't see that then I'm sorry. Not everyone is Bill Bellichek.
Why would you not try an embody Bill Bellichek? He's arguably the goat in regards to head coaching. The players love BoB. The league knows BoB is a good coach. If he gets fired by Rick Smith he will be coaching someone else next year. The Texans will totally screw the pooch if they let him go.
It doesn't take courage. If you look at the body of work with the QB carousel he has had, then you can see that he's done a good job. Let him work with Deshaun. If BoB isn't successful after year 2 with Deshaun then you do not extend BoB and move on. Did y'all see the week 2 to week 3 improvement with Watson? That's good coaching. Changing offensive schemes two years in a row is not beneficial to the Texans who just gave Cleveland next years first round pick.
We're 1-2 and look like the third best team in one of the worst divisions. The offense has gotten worse every year. We don't have a first or second rounder next year because we're in "win now mode." The job wasn't to find a QB in four years.
You have lost all credibility already due to your constant negative attitude on top of your borderline troll remarks on Deshaun early on. You are the typical overreaction fan who fails to recognize that the Texans are back to back AFC South champs and are only three games in. Its early, and nobody knows who is a great team or not other than the Patriots/Chiefs at the moment. We win against Tennessee and you could argue we are once again the beat team in our division. The offense isn't necessarily worse this year. You have to give it time. Offensive play is notoriously designated to QB/OL play. You can get on Rick Smith for that but as Bellichek said last week. BoB is playing with the hand he has been dealt. We had our best offensive game last week since 2015.
Why? Because I don't agree with you? You have yet to bring up a reason why he should be fired. I have brought up a reason he shouldn't. How about you bring up a valid reason instead of saying I'm impossible.
Bill O'Brien should be fired for a number of reasons. His specialty is offense, yet the offense has gotten worst every year he has been the Texans head coach. He has gone: 9-7, 9-7, 9-7, 1-2 in his career as the Texans head coach. Over 3+ years he is essentially a .500% coach. His defense, which he doesn't coach has over the years bailed him out of games. He has done nothing to show that he deserves to remain the Texans head coach.
Playing is a mediocre division doesn't mean much..... let's cut to the chase, Bill O'Brien has been a 9-7 coach in his 3 full years and is 1-2 in the playoffs.
Just because I'm wrong on Watson doesn't mean I'm wrong on O'Brien. You can't lay it on Rick Smith. He just gets the players the coaches want. Interesting that the defense is good every year. Watson has to make insane plays because the ol is so bad, we only have one good wr until fuller comes back, and O'Brien uses the rbs wrong. We shouldn't waste Watson's potential.
I am a supporter of Rick Smith, don't get me wrong. I just think a lot of our issues are related to line play. Brandon Brooks and Ben Jones not returning is on who exactly? Didn't we lose Ben Jones and replace him with that scrub from the Raiders who we let go? Rick Smith has been awful in free agency since his tenure minus the time he brought in JJo and Daniel Manning. He is keeping his job because hes a mad man in the first round and is great with the UDA's. Getting back to BoB. You have to look at things objectively with BoB. What coach in the NFL would have been 9-7 with Ryan Fitzpatrick, Brian Hoyer, Ryan Mallet, TJ Yates, Tom Savage, Brock Osweiler. The list would be very small if not one name. Fans are not looking at this objectively. Argue he should have gone after a different QB, sure. Who? I have seen the Derek Carr argument but lord knows if Derek was the best prospect since Andrew Luck we still wouldnt take him due to David Carr.
I believe this team can win a championship in the next few years if they can keep the D together and improve the OL.
So the offense has gotten worse every year, the line has gotten worse every year, the wide receivers keep busting, every trade up has been a bust and yet you think both the coach and the gm have done a good job? Because they went 9-7 and won the worst division in football twice?
Since you ignored what I mentioned earlier in the thread. I will copy and paste and ask you to answer this. How can you say the offense is worse this year? We have played three games. That is too small a sample size to make that assumption. Of course I can take the one game against the Pats and call this the best offense the Texans have had under BoB, but of course that isnt logical.
