You say it's stupid because you don't like it. Because it made you uncomfortable.

I know plenty of people who love what they are doing.

You say that they are setting equality back, yet no one would say that about Muhammad Ali, Kareem, John Carlos.

Because people have the benefit of hindsight there and it has become socially acceptable by white society to approve of them. In time, Colin Kaepernick will be viewed the same way and your position will be on the wrong side of history, again.

Which has nothing do with players. The US military PAYS the NFL to play the national anthem. They use it as a recruitment tool.

Another conservative vet turning the protest into something it's not and feeling disappointed that they don't do what he wants and entertain them.

Keep changing the narrative though to whatever suits you best, it's what conservatives do to turn it from a protest about police brutality to an assault on minorities and liberals to make yourself feel more 'Murcia than everybody else. In addition, I said it before but I'm active duty so miss me with the vet talk

What are you talking about ? See this is real simple. I post politics in political web sites, on my radio shows, and everywhere else for the past 40 plus years. I do not consider CF a political site. You sir, have a lack of respect for those who disagree with your opinions.

When I say shut it down I mean go put this in basketball related threads that have to do with Side Issues. Race relations and your politics are not basketball game related issues imo. Or would you TAKE AWAY MY RIGHT TO MY OPINION sir ?

This makes you no better then whatever stance you take against others sir. The word is HYPOCRITE>

At 65 I am not apologizing for my opinion and I was out there supporting minorities in their fight for having their voices heard for 22 years in public radio. Right now I empower minorities with the gift of free caption phones so they can stay connected and relevant for years to come in the worst neighborhoods in Houston. Every day.

Now tell me sir, what have you DONE to support others in this regard, besides writing stuff on this web site ?

Words Are Cheap. I Live By LOVE in Action.

THIS veteran is NOT offended one bit. I remember taking an oath to support and defend the constitution. SUPPORT and defend! I support the players every right to freedom of speech. If they want to kneel so be it. It’s not disrespectful to me because of the reasons behind. Racial inequality and social injustices. I didn’t sign up to take a bullet for this country for these issues to be happening still today. Wanna know what does piss this VETERAN off? People parading AMERICAN streets with nazi and confederate flags. Gtfoh with that non-sense. Tell me how that isn’t a spit in the face to veterans.

If you disrespected the flag then No.

If you dont like america and kneeled then No

If you kneeled because you cant stand then i think you're ok.

If you been arrested for robbery or a crime and you hate the government and kneeled then I dont know.

If you want to unite the country by kneeling go ahead

If you wanna just get down on your knees then sure.

In life we are responsible for everyone. People need to show more respect for one another.

Many people have their own agendas but in life so many people help get people where they are and we should appreciate one another. Everyone should give and contribute to society. Dont be a taker in life.

Every professions have their own bad apples

Does all teachers have sexual relations with their studens? NO

Does all sport figures take steroids? NO

Does all fast food workers spit in your food? No

Does all police officers practice corruption? NO

Does every maid sleep with their workers? No

Does every accountant commit fraud? No.

In a basketball thread, i dont know why politics and hate should be brought up instead of players and teams performance. I can go read yahoo and read very bias articles and click baits.

Sorry but I knew my grandfather, he would be behind this, and what Trump said about POWs would have been a huge no-no to him.

I'm not dumb either, I wouldn't even call myself Young, 33 sure it could be young, but I grew up in the 80s, not like I grew up in the late 90s to the 2000s.

I know people my age who disagree with me, and others who agree with me, it's their right to do so. But i don't see it as disrespectful to the flag or the military, this is what my grandfather fought for, their right to free speech.

If people wish to boycott the NFL or sports then so be it, they have the right to do so, I don't see how it hurts or delays the game, it happens before the game begins. I refuse to boycott any sports league I sub to.

That's a good point, he is very effective at trolling people, and what originally started as one man against police brutality has turned into who knows what.

I would just prefer they all band together, all player from all teams, and make a statement away from game day, to me that would be much more clear and powerful than what's currently happening.

    Do they need to?
It's their freedom to stop supporting the team, like it's the freedom of the athletes to kneel. Freedom of choice and speech.

I'm more insulted by people who say Rockets over everything. Really? Is a sport team over your ideals and your dignity?
That's nothing more than blind and idiotic fanaticism.

I have abandoned my beloved basketball team in the past because I felt the new situation with a despicable drug addicted owner, insulted my dignity and my ideals.
I couldn't with a clear consience continue supporting a team that was represented by this ...human.
Maybe I was alone in it and people didn't understand it but I don't regret it. Not until the problem changes I will come back.

The issue isn't if people are offended by the kneeling.

The issue is that some think that the athletes need to be punished and be prosecuted for their action.

You can disagree and be offended, but have to respect the right of the other person for peaceful protest.

Your question/poll has inherent flaws and built in bias.
