For some reason I'm not fearing OKC.

On paper, OKC looks real good. They couldn't close the deal with KD, so it's up to Melo and PG13.

I'm a Rockets fan, but the Rockets could've definitely used a 3rd star. Harden and CP3 is enough to the playoffs, but I don't see them getting to the Finals as is. Buuut, I've been wrong in the past, so I hope to be wrong again.

If our threes are going in all year and into the postseason, then I could say I won't regret we didn't get Melo.

If we're bricking from the perimeter all year round though and had to rely on our stars creating their own shots, then yeah, we really could have used Melo.

With that said, we're a team that shoots a lot of threes, but isn't particularly exceptional at making them either.

SAS is like the biggest CP3 fan in media, now he's calling CP3 the "biggest loser" after CP3 became a Rockets. Coincident? I think not.

Ego can create more shots than Melo. At this point of his career, Melo can't even attack the basket as much as Ariza.

A week ago Melo was our savior and now he is worse that Ego and Ariza. Ariza can barely dribble a basketball . Ego is a better 3 point shooter than Melo. I am not sure how he creates his shot better than melo since melo has way more skill than ego. They might fit better in the rockets system, but they aren't better players.

Ego is injury prone. Last year could have been an anomaly. He is brittle and he plays pretty recklessly. Somehow everyone forgot how we got him, because no one really wanted him that bad because of his lengthy injury history. NO guarantee he stays healthy. I would have taken the chance on Melo.

but he won't even make the rockets better if he replaced Gordon and Ariza

he's far worse than Ariza, Ego on defense, professionalism, hustle, and grit

and he' scoring isn't enough to replace Ariza's and Ego's

CP3, Harden, & MDA could have easily persuaded Morey to up the offer to get Melo but they all agreed Melo's only worth RA and a pick at best

Are these including playoffs? Obviously Melo was not in the playoffs, but I'm interested in the numbers during the playoffs.

so we will be better in the regular season with ego and ariza vs melo..

when's the last time melo was in the playoffs anyway?

also alot of people think ego is easily replaceable.. don't think a 6th man of the yr candidate/deserving backup to JH is easy to find

blah blah injury prone. people just always want to assume the worst when the opposite is happening.

no one wanted him. did you just make that up also. ny, orlando, memphis were all going after EG. the things people pluck out of the sky around here:rolleyes:

Cp3 has a real shot to win here. Stephen A always overrates carmelo

I see your perspective. I like Ego he was brilliant last year. I just wonder sometimes about his injury history. It was miraculous he didn't get hurt last year and played most of the year, but he was definitely a bargain deal.

not that miraculous when you take into account the situation hes in. much better team, he wants to be here, role is reduced which is less stress on his body

True points. He was well deserving of his contract. It even translated in the playoffs, so it was a win win.

I'm not arguing he's not good, but he has to be on the floor to have an impact. Last year was an anomaly based on his history - strained groin, sprained big toe, right wrist bone chip fracture, right knee injury, left knee tendinitis, torn labrum, surgery on his finger. You're right teams wanted him, but what I meant was teams were concerned because of his injury history. No way New Orleans would have let him walk if he wasn't injury prone and it affected his contract. He used to be a max player. I love how he plays and his fit, I just think based on history he is more likely to get hurt this year and miss significant time which degrades his value. Playoff scoring and health are important, and I think Melo would have brought both and maybe Wade too.

Eric Gordon Regular Season Missed Games:

    1st season: 4 games

    2nd season: 20 games

    3rd season: 26 games

    4th season: 57 games

    5th season: 29 games

    6th season: 18 games

    7th season: 21 games

    8th season: 40 games

    9th season: 7 games

im perfectly aware of his games missed before he got here. but hes never been in this situation hes currently in as a whole and because of that I see no reason why he wont continue to be as healthy as he was last near. His history has no basis on what will happen in the future. All this waiting for him to be injured stuff is just dumb to me. its like people just want him to get hurt.

New Orleans didn't let him walk. He left bc he hated it there. It was his own choice. He wanted to leave years ago and asked them not to match a contract offer and they still did.
