But it's a free country and can express my opinion, right. Or do you try to suppress my opinion
with name calling or force your sentiments about mine.

Individuals who have a problem with police should (at the level of celebrities) should do a ride a long with
a squad car to see the dangers that occur constantly while on patrol. Watch the training videos
of individuals ignoring their commands and disrespecting them......making a situation much more intense
and dangerous. Where officers have to make a judgement call in seconds on who is friend and who is foe.

Walk in their shoes. Every car they approach that has tinted windows well beyond the legal level, not
knowing if a gun is aimed at them. Vice-versa. The cops need to be in the low rent districts witnessing
the distress the people are going thru. Neither protesting the other. Respecting each other.

This was a silly ass story. My friend was a 16 year old black kid and he got shot 60 times by cops in the usa. I tell all my people in mexico to count their blessings. You see how stupid I sound, thats you

I expressed my opinion already and my opinion stated that your post is stupid.

No where did I suggest that you ought to not post your opinion.

Police officers in many parts of this country are poorly trained. It's turned into a low skilled profession. All it takes in many departments is a high school degree or a worthless cj degree that one of my fellow grunts I served with labeled the classes as "war stories 101" from his experience obtaining one.

We need to raise their pay and increase standards.

We make the issue worse by waving a magic wand over them as infallible because their job entails risk.

This probably should be more in the D&D section but I think if people NEVER look at athletes as Role Models and only judge them by what they do on the court (while playing), then the OP's poll doesn't really matter.

No he didn't shut him down and whatever happened it wasn't quick. He and the NBA let Abdul-Rauf continue to protest until his contract was up. Then he came back into the league two years later and prayed during the anthem. He never quit following what he believed. The NBA softened on him, not the other way around.

Today's sports are no different on the stance of free speech than they ever were. The 60s was far from soft and had it's fair share of protest on the big stage. Sports breaks barriers and this is just another period where sports might be on the verge of breaking another barrier.

Shutting down free speech is some communist bullshit and honestly no blue-blooded American should ever try to stop someone from exercising their rights. If you're a proud American, stand up for the constitution. The constitution never mentions having to stand up during an anthem like some nazi propaganda machine, but it does spell out freedom of speech and the right to protest.

Ok. I express my opinion that your opinion is stupid and you lack information.

I'm not saying America is perfect; but I am saying it's the country closest to perfect as you will find.
As Americans we all won the lottery. Foreigners are dying trying to get here.

If you don't like this country then exit stage left like George Clooney and his wife did. They quickly came
back with their tails between their legs, saying France was more dangerous than America.

I am looking forward to them kneeling. I think when I go to a game, I'll join them.

The avenue of protest is in poor taste. and I actually agree with the message. It's turning people off the awareness though and causing more division. We can agree to disagree. This is also coming from a purple heart recipient who was shot in the leg, and the passenger next to me killed with countless friends lost.

I don't think there is a person on this board who believes America is infallible.. not even rocketslegend so that was a stupid comment to make. The way to protest that sends a clear message, draws respect from everyone and insults no one is exactly what the Dallas Cowboys did.

So why make this about yourself? Do you understand how self centered that is? You even know that the athletes are not targeting you in any manner what so ever. You are willingly allowing this to offend you for no reason. Let them express their message that this country needs a hard look at how our criminal justice system is disproportionately unfair to the poor or specific minority reports.

I already covered these things in previous posts. I stated my opinion in a bigger picture format rather than a personal one. I'm not making it personally about myself. I'm using some logic, what is really the best approach to spreading needed awareness? Path chosen will cause more division and turn people even more away from the message. Makes the country even more infallible. Cowboys did it the correct way, that resonates-- the other just causes anger and division. It's literally hypocritical because it's exactly what Trump would do if he held their beliefs.

Well said Realjad. I also hate the Cowboys but they really did it right in my opinion...maybe since they were the last team to play this weekend.

Anyway, I would not stop watching the Rockets games if they were to kneel during the anthem but would prefer to see them either kneel before hand or even lock arms through the anthem. I agree with the protests that are going on because these injustices specially against minorities by the police have been on the rise or at least it seems like it. For the first time, last year when I was stopped for a traffic violation, I was actually scared and hoped that the officer didn't think that I might make a sudden move which could have triggered a negative reaction by him. Anyway, hopefully these showing of solidarity/protests will help change this world in a positive way...we'll see.

Kneeling isn't disrespect for the flag, the national anthem, or the country.

Edit: You know, I should have thought my message out a bit before I posted it. It can be considered disrespectful if a person does it for a disrespectful reason, obviously.

The meaning behind the kneeling is more important than the kneeling itself. That's how I feel about it. I should also add that it isn't respectful to me in particular. I can't, and I won't speak for anyone else. I completely understand why someone who view it as disrespect, but I also hope they understand why NFL players were kneeling before President Trump said something. And I hope they support the meaning behind the kneeling, too.

This country lacks communication a lot of the time.

Even after you took time and retype everything again and you still don't get such a simple point.

For whatever reason you are upset or got offended about some players taking a knee or taking a seat during the national anthem before a football game, so what is the difference than someone trying to express their points doing similar thing in a movie, through a painting, by a book or more commonly - through social media?

And somehow you want to compare such behaviors to actual terrorists attacks?

I'd boo them before the anthem started expressing my right to free speech and my thoughts towards their actions. Then proceed with enjoying the game.

And I'll stand silently wondering why dimwits like you are so triggered by a knee bend.

Dude you were the one who brought up blowing up white house. And I never compared it to kneeing. It's all your own strawman.
