The Grizzlies are hoping that Chandler Parsons (knees) will be a full participant when training camp opens in the fall. Memphis signed Parsons to a four-year, $94 million contract (the richest incoming free-agent contract in franchise history) last summer, but injuries to both knees limited Parsons to just 34 games. He averaged career-lows in games, minutes, points, assists and rebounds. However, the Grizz are hoping that a full offseason of rest will help his knees recover. ______________________ Parsons’ teammates have repeatedly alluded to how shaken and fragile his mindset has been this season as he worked his way back from right knee surgery only to be shut down this past March with a torn left knee ligament. Because Parsons, Conley and Gasol will eat up close to 70 percent of the Grizzlies’ 2017-18 salary cap, there isn’t much room, outside of executing a major trade, to considerably upgrade the roster if Parsons can’t get on track soon. Bottom line Parsons’ absence from the team after he was shut down in March was attributed by general manager Chris Wallace to rehab sessions with a renowned knee specialist in Los Angeles. But skipping most of the series against the Spurs, then not appearing for media exit interviews, wasn’t a good look. To no fault of his own, Parsons cleared $22 million this season and played in 34 games. He’s got three more lucrative years left on his deal, and his post-recovery future might require a conversion to a stretch power forward from his natural small forward spot. My view? Don’t discount how sensitive that subject is entering the summer, especially as Memphis could be facing frugal free-agency decisions with franchise pillars Zach Randolph and Tony Allen in addition to restricted free agent JaMychal Green. http://www.nba.com/grizzlies/news/grind-city-media/mikecheck-offseason-outlook-parsons-170515
Parsons seems done to me it's hard for me to imagine him staying healthy for any prolonged period of time I used to love Parsons, he was my 2nd favorite player on that 13-14 team and I thought that he'd be our starting SF for years to come...I was so pissed when we didn't match his contract now that he looks completely washed and can't stay healthy, all I have to say is... Good job Morey!!!
He was a talent once and that flew out of the window......haha #DarkAnakin God knows why that boy is ganked on Embiid now.
I thought seeing J.R. as the last to post here would show a story of how Parsons strained a ligament in his knee while practicing free throws and would be out until Christmas (say it to the tune of "Bullet the Blue Sky") counting those dollar bills: "$100! $200!"
Chandler, I saw Grant Hill play. I drank sprite for Grant Hill. I was a fan of Grant Hill. Chandler, you're no Grant Hill. https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/...-calling-grant-hill-soft-im-in-his-shoes-now/
